question

I bought this SSD and connected to my 2015 MacBook Pro Retina using a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 2 cable plugged into an adapter Thunderbolt 2 to USB-C(aka Thunderbolt 3), but it's not recognizable by my Mac. If I connect it through the USB port(USB A), it finds but I'm limited to 100 MB/s speeds. Is there a problem connecting it the way I have it right now?So, the cable goes from my MacBook to the adapter, and then the USB-C of the adapter gets into the WD Passport itself.
Asked by: Razvan
The WD 512GB My Passport USB 3.1 Type-C External Solid State Drive BH #WEBK3E5120PS can work at full speed on your 2015 Macbook Pro Retina, it will not work over Thunderbolt. The ports on the Macbook Pro 2015 Retina are USB 3.0 which can support up to 540MB/s, this drive can go up to 515 MB/s. You do not need any adapters to use it.
