This review is for a Catapult Mini TX and RX, which I ordered together. Channel 2 is not working properly with a phantom-powered condenser mic. I tested with two brand new Ethernet cables (Cat 6a and Cat 7), both with shielded connectors as well as shielded cable (required for transmission of phantom power). I did further testing which ruled out the mic, mic cable, and audio interface as causes of the problem. I verified the issue on channel 2 with an XLR cable tester, which showed a wiring issue with pin 3. I expect better quality control from Radial. Awaiting a response from them.

The Radial Catapult Mini RX is working well so far with the TX4 we purchased. The cat5 cable is much more convenient than traditional audio snakes as long as you have durable cables. The unit seems well made and durable as other Radial gear.

Works great!

Good quality metal construction, rugged cables, lossless sound. I'm extending over 110 feet with unshielded Cat5e and the sound quality is flawless.

Yes, a Cat7 cable is backwards compatible with Cat5 and Cat6 systems. You can use a Cat7 cable with this product, however there will be no added benefit.

What distance can this be used to send remote audio from a PC output source to a recorder?
Asked by: Gregory
The Catapult Mini system can send a signal up to a maximum of 300’ without issue. However, due to the economical nature of ethernet cable these systems are susceptible to interference from the surrounding environment. Because of this how long it can actually run will vary by the location. This system works in correlation with the Radial Engineering Catapult Mini TX 4-Channel Cat 5 Audio Snake, BH #RAR8008028. You will need bot the transmitter and receiver.
