Add the Starlight Xpress OcuPi Remote Acquisition System to your Oculus All-Sky Camera system so you can control it from just about any WiFi-enabled device. The system plugs into, and is powered by, the Oculus camera system to make it easy to use and to eliminate the need for additional power cords or batteries.
Out of the box, the OcuPi come with pre-configured settings to get you started immediately, and can be reconfigured to your preferences or requirements. The remote system's default setting will automatically begin capturing an image every 30 seconds as soon as the sky gets dark enough, and end at dawn. It will also automatically stitch the captured images into a movie and save it for retrieval. It only has enough memory to hold a single night's images, so it will overwrite whatever is in its memory the next night, so make sure you retrieve the movie the next day. You can customize exposure duration, contrast, gamma, pixel binning, start/stop brightness levels, and more.
Its IP65-rated control box is water and dustproof and contains the interface, all required software, WiFi antenna, and ports. Once connected to the Oculus, the OcuPi will generate its own local WiFi signal to wirelessly connect to smartphones, tablets, or computers. The interface is done through any desktop or mobile web browser, without requiring any app downloads or special drivers. For a more stable connection, the OcuPi can be directly connected to a computer using a standard Ethernet cable.
