Hello Ada,
We recommend mounting the antenna on the metal roof and running the ground and coax into the home. Metal roofs are among the main reasons for RF signal interference. We do not recommend using antenna in attic with a metal roof. This unit comes with a stand for indoor use as well. Any other question dont hesitate to ask. Thank you.
