    Audio-Technica AT8681 reviews

AT8681 - UniMix Mic Combiner with Balance Control is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly Installs and works just as specified. Saves running a separate cable a hundred feet back to the soundboard for a 2-mic choir matrix hanging from the stage ceiling. Feed-through phantom powers the condensors mics correctly; compact; designed for remote mounting; appropriately priced.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from did exactly what it promised. I am using this in an auditorium that uses an integrated Crestron system. There is no individual volume control for each of the 12 microphones in the room. I needed to add a microphone, but had no additional channels or know how due to the Crestron controller module. This was the most inexpensive fix available to accomodate this. It's worked great so far. It allowed me to add one more mike and the levels of each mike hasn't dropped. It worked just like adding another channel/mike into the system. No volume loss and the mikes have the same volume level. Much better than a $ quote to add a channel into the overall system and reprogram the system. It's also lightweight and can be mounted out of the way easily.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I would not buy this again I bought this to use two mics with a Fishman Loudbox mini, only to discover that it is requires phantom power. Bought a stand-alone phantom power box, still no good. I would recommend only use with a mixer that has phantom power, if an extra channel (mic) is needed. Returned the phantom power box, however, traded in the UniMix to get a self powered mixer...lost on this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great way to combine two balanced ins! Needed to add another mic to a completely filled mixer. This is the perfect solution (don't even try to use a Y cable with balanced inputs). It attenuates by about 6db to make the final output around the same level plus it has a trim to adjust between the 2 inputs. No power needed! Handy to have in your kit at all times. All steel construction to boot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from passes phantom power to two inputs Sometimes I rehearse with a guitar/DI and bass/DI (one at a time) and this device will allow me to use a single channel on the mixer while passing phantom power to both (L.R. Baggs) DIs. You'll want to be sure that you don't overload the phantom power bus on your mixer, but otherwise this is can be a great solution!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for 8 tom drum miking i split my eight toms into 4 the AT8681's then into my high end mic press, & then i can fine tune the mix of the 2 toms to balance them into 1 track in pro tools 11.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as I expected I actually use it to combine the outputs from a computer direct box. So far it has worked well
