Perfect for my Leica Q
This seems to be the older model for the Leica Q. It has the screw-down portion, whereas the newer models and the one for the Q2 just slips into the shoe. I bought the screw-down version because I was used to that on my other cameras. It is quite solid in the hotshoe and does exactly what it is supposed to do: namely, provide a better grip on the camera. I took it off for a couple of weeks after I bought a case with a grip on the front, but put the thumbs up backl on after a couple of weeks. Now I use both a front grip and the thumbs up and feel no need to use a wrist strap since the grip is so secure.

Useful thumb rest, helps stabilise the camera. Works well in conjunction with the separate hand grip. If you buy the Thumbs Up, be careful to order the SQ2 version, with the Allen screw that tightens it down to the hot shoe. Earlier version reportedly comes loose.

The correct one for the Q-P in Matt Black which is not available in the UK Expensive taking into account postage and customs Delivery was quick and the purchase was very easy It looks good provides additional support with minimal weight

as advertised...silver matches better than other reviewers have stated. Also this is SQ2, which includes a small screw, and Allan wrench to tighten, as opposed to original version, which only fits...but not as well . You may not need this if using a half case ( which I didnt like because its minor height makes me think the camera is less balanced (perception only)

I like the Q's grip but I have stout hands so I wanted a little better grip. I purchased this and was pleasantly surprised. It is made of metal and it fits the camera perfectly. If you have larger hands, check into this add on for your Q camera.
Essential Accessory
This version of the Thumbs-Up has a nice upgrade - it has a hex screw on top to lock it to the camera hot shoe. The previous version was friction fit only. One potential downside is that it covers the Leica Q-P text on the hot shoe, but really that is just slightly cosmetic. Honestly it looks great and is not ever coming loose. My setup is the EP-SQ2, Leica Q Protector and the Leica wrist strap 19563. I might add the Match Technical lens cap, but not sure I need it.
