Equipped with a large and intuitive 2.7" color touchscreen LCD and now featuring built-in radio flash power control and triggering for the 2.4 GHz Elinchrom EL Skyport wireless system, the LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U-EL Series Light Meter from Sekonic will make incident metering for ambient and flash light super simple. The major ability of this system enables complete control of the flash's power in 0.1-step increments. Along with this, the 20-channel system has separate selection between 4 groups with measured values maintained for ratio determination. Users will also be able to control modeling lamp power as well as set ALL groups at once.

Notable for the L-478 light meter series is the large color touchscreen, which allows for fast control over settings for both ambient and flash metering. The meter is quite capable as well, able to function within a range of -2 to 22.9 EV at ISO 100. And, for the current crop of hybrid shooters this model expands on its standard stills functions with two distinct video modes: Cine and HD Cine. These settings give access to frame rate selection from 1-1,000 fps as well as shutter angle settings from 1-358° as well as ISO 850 for Canon cinema cameras.

Guaranteeing the best possible performance is a suite of functions and features that will ensure users have the best tools available to them. Among these is a flash analyzing function that uses ambient and flash simultaneously to allow for shooters to dial in their preferred mix. Also, using the included Data Transfer Software users will be able to do Exposure Profiling for their camera by using the optional 5° viewfinder, showing dynamic range limits and knowing that you will have an accurate exposure. Alongside this is a Filtration Compensation Mode that allows for the meter to account for filter factor, which can now be done at up to 12 EV for landscape shooters using high-density ND filters. Other features include a contrast function for comparing brightness, a memory mode for 8 readings, and illuminance or luminance measurement.

Lumisphere receptor head rotates 90° right and 180° left and retracts for conversion to a flat diffuser
Optional 5° viewfinder for spot metering
Ambient light measuring modes include aperture priority, shutter speed priority, TF priority, CINE, HD Cine, illuminance, and luminance
Flash can be measured with PC sync terminal connection, cordless, or radio triggering
Measuring range at ISO 100 of -2 to 22.9 EV with incident light or 3 to 22.9 EV with reflected light
ISO range of 3 to 409,600 in 1/3 steps, including 850 for Canon cinema cameras
Other functions: exposure profile, mid tone function, exposure compensation, filter compensation, multiple cumulative function, memory/clear/recall function, average function, contrast function, auto power off, touch panel lock
Runs on 2 AAA batteries

LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U-EL Series Light Meter for Elinchrom EL Skyport System is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent light meter I have several kinds of Elinchrom strobes and this new meter is not only spot on with it's exposure readings but now I can control everything on all of my lights right from the meter. I can turn the modeling light on or off, raise of lower light intensity, and so much more. I gave it a once over yesterday with 3 back to back portrait shoots using different heads and setups. I was able to move smoothly and professionally while getting spot on exposures every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Meter Great addition to an already excellent light meter. It's a great addition when using Elinchrom mono lights to be able to trigger them with the light meter and set the output power. Great meter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product by far This meter works great through radio and controls all of my Elinchrom strobes. Then it gives the meter reading that makes the perfect pictures every single time!!! Thank you for carrying this awesome product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Technology I previously owned the original L-478D, but when they released this Elinchrom model I had to have it. I also own the Elinchrom Skyport HS with the same radio technology and I love that too. If you have multiple strobes or do much outdoor work this meter is worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied I am not a technical person and am usually very sceptical in buying products which need high degree of product manual reading and setup. But Litemaster Pro L478Dr-U-El was actually very easy to work with and I only had to read the manual once and watch couple of You tube tutorials to set it up.It works perfectly fine and now I don't need to climb ladders to set up the Elinchrom lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest thing since sliced bread!! Great right out of box...download the instructions to set to strobes and a cakewalk from there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent & easier to use than expected w/Elinchrom Strobes I was tired of lots of pieces, batteries, fiddly connections, etc., so I bought Elinchrom strobes (ELC Pro 2-light kit, used D-lite 400 2 light kit, used D-lite single 200) with the receiver built in. I had an old Sekonic Flashmate that just stopped working. So I spent the money and bought the L-4578DR-U-EL. It was a perfect purchase. It is easy to use both for measuring and for quickly changing light levels and quickly measuring individual groups. I haven't bought the spot attachment, but I may to measure the background to make it easier to set the light for different levels of gray or for white. Extremely happy with this meter. It comes with a slide in case that works fine for me. I keep cameras, lenses, light meter in a backpack case and it all works well.
