How much can this hold? I have an a7ii with battery grip, 15mm rod baseplate, plus a lens. just wanted a top handle to go with it but I'm afraid it wont hold it all.
I’ve used it with a Canon 5D Mark IV, Battery grip, Cage, rails,and Canon 24-70 lens and it does ok! I think the 5D’s are a little heavier then the A7’s too, so I think you should be fine!

Is it possible to remove the cold shoe and attach it like a normal handle? I'm trying to remove the screw with the allen key but it is too tight.
Unfortunately, you would not be able to remove the hot shoe mount from the handle.
