Shoot at staggering distances with the 125x optical zoom COOLPIX P1000 Digital Camera from Nikon. This camera, which has a 16MP backside illuminated CMOS sensor, features a built-in NIKKOR lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 24-3000mm. You can zoom even further with 250x Dynamic Fine digital zoom, which will give you an equivalent focal length of 6000mm. Coupled with these extreme focal lengths is Nikon's Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction, which provides 5 stops of optical image stabilization and ensures your telephoto shots are crisp.
Gracing the back of the camera are a 3.2" vari-angle, 921k-dot LCD monitor and an eye-level 2.36m-dot electronic viewfinder, so your subjects will always be easy to see. The camera is also capable of recording 4K UHD video at 30 or 25 fps and supports an external microphone via a 3.5mm connector.
Camera shake may be a concern while shooting at extreme focal lengths on a tripod. Or, you may need to otherwise remotely operate the P1000. The optional ML-L7 remote satisfies these needs with wireless operation off the camera's zoom, shutter, and other settings. Once you're done with a shoot, immediately access your photos on a paired smartphone via the Nikon SnapBridge app and the camera's built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Nikon P1000 Reviews
Amazing Camera
This camera has a powerful zoom lens that is amazing. I'm happy that I purchased this camera.
Not all functions apper as the directions say they should'
The directions say the prompt to format the new memory card should appear in the menu selections. It does not. i've tried many alternate ways to select an option to format the card. It does not appear. I can capture images and upload them to my computer but ... The auto focus at extreme zoom range hunts but doesn't focus. I'll keep reading the directions BUT ..... An unhappy customer so far.
Disappointed
I upgraded to the P1000 for the 125x optical zoom. So far, I'm disappointed with the camera. It weights too much, and the photo quality is lacking. I should have stayed with the P950 (lighter and better-quality photos).
Awesome Zoom!
I'm loving my P1000 for the Nature Photography and videos I do.
Extremely satisfied
The Nikon P1000 is wonderful for nature (bird) photography for someone like myself who is not tech savvy yet wishes to have the ability to capture distant subjects for superb pictures. Thank you!
Great camera, great service
This camera is perfect for what I do...nature photos, mainly birds. B&H delivered it overnight. Could not be better service.
like optics but terrible microphone and video.
Bought it March 7 2023, after few week I discover that microphone is recording tribble sound, and in beginning of may video stop recording correctly. Hope they can fix it or give me new camera. other way i like it but for longer time shooting from hand i got tired. it is too heavy.
Really Fun
You can take great photos with this camera and it's portable. I spend a lot of time at nature preserves and I see most people with ungainly SLRs with 400-600mm lenses attached. They are never seen far from their cars. My P1000 is hikable. I usually carry it in a backpack until I'm ready to shoot. That way your hands are free and the camera is protected. For those of you complaining that the sensor is small, I'll leave this comment. It is 16Mp. Many of Nikon's full frame cameras are 20. It's not a significant difference. The P1000s pixels are closer together on the smaller chip, but the resolution should be about the same. Of course, to get the best/sharpest photos you need good light and gentle winds. Same with any camera. Have fun out there.
