Take advantage of optical media with the Apple USB SuperDrive Kit with USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Male to USB Type-A Female Adapter.
Apple USB SuperDrive
Whether you're at the office or on the road, you can play and burn both CDs and DVDs with the Apple USB SuperDrive. It works well when you want to watch a DVD movie, install software, create backup discs, and more. Only slightly bigger than a CD case, the Apple USB SuperDrive slips easily into your travel bag when you hit the road and takes up little space on your desk or tray table when you're working.
You don't have to worry about lost cables with the Apple USB SuperDrive. It connects to your MacBook Pro with Retina display, MacBook Air, iMac (late 2012 and later), Mac mini (late 2009 and later), or Mac Pro (late 2013) with a single USB cable that's built into the SuperDrive. There's no separate power adapter, and it works whether your Mac is plugged in or running on battery power.
Apple USB Type-C to USB Type-A Adapter
The USB 3.0 Type-C to USB Type-A Adapter lets you connect iOS devices and many of your standard USB accessories to a MacBook with a USB Type-C port.
Plug the USB-C end of the adapter into the USB-C port on your MacBook, and then connect your flash drive, camera, or other standard USB device. You can also connect a USB cable to sync and charge your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.

Does this super drive work with Apple OS 10.15.3? This os is Catalina. Thanks
Asked by: Burton
It works on my Mac Pro with Catalina 10.15.4, but it requires you to place it directly into a USB port on the computer, not into a hub, telling you in an error message that order to get power, it has to be plugged directly into the computer. Works fine on Thunderbolt port on my Macbook Pro running Mohave with the supplied adaptor, but not on my Mac Pro. Go figure.
