An ultra-wide zoom characterized by a bright and advanced optical design, the XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR from FUJIFILM is a 12-24mm-equivalent lens featuring a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture for consistent performance throughout the zoom range. The optical layout comprises six extra-low dispersion elements, including three Super ED elements, which help to virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations and color fringing for greater clarity and color accuracy. Four aspherical elements are also used to suppress distortion, curvature of field, and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness. Also, a Nano-GI coating helps to control ghosting and flare for enhanced contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optics is a refined linear motor, which affords quick and quiet autofocus performance, and the lens body is weather-sealed in 11 distinct places to support working in trying environmental conditions.

FUJIFILM XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR Reviews
Great experience
It was my first shoot of the milky way. I love this lens!
Just Wow, I'm not kidding!
The XF 8-16/2.8 is a beautifully built and incredibly performing lens. Careful testing on my X-Pro3 shows the 8-16 has stunning sharpness, contrast and color right across the field from 2.8 on up. It is the best super wide angle zoom I've ever owned and I've owned quality over the years. I currently have the Sony 12-24/4 G for my Sony A7R3 (42MP). The 8-16 XF beats the 12-24 G in the far corners wide open (2.8 vs 4.0) at all equivalent focal lengths. That Sony is a quality lens and a good sample. When Fuji brings out a future higher MP model (32, 43MP?) This 8-16 will be ready for it. BTW, It handles very nicely on my X-Pro3 with the addition of the Fuji MHG hand grip and Lensmate Thumbrest.
Fun Lens!
Bought this lens for use with my XPro 3 and I found it to be a lens that I could find opportunities with. I didn't find it to be overly heavy although I wasn't carrying anything else. Focusing was quick and the images were excellent. Note that the enclosed pic hasn't been post processed.
Amazingly Sharp!
This lens paired with the X-T4 is a brilliant combination resulting in super sharp handheld images. Be prepared for the size and weight of this lens, it is substantial but worth it.
Fantastic!
This lens makes you smile. The quality you expect and more. Great for low light urban and landscape shots. Cool for those tight indoor shots as well. It's expensive but if you want a versatile lens to pair with your 16-55 you won't be disappointed
Very good !
Outstanding performance, very satisfied !
Freakin' Awesome Bigass Lens
Expensive and heavy. Would probably have gone for the more practical and more affordable 10-24 f4 without the $500 discount. But if those are not your concerns, this is a freakin' awesome wide angle zoom. Would have killed for this when I was a working professional photog. Oh, well. My favorite wide was my Nikon 24mm f2. This is even better. Yeah. And much bigger. You get what you're willing to carry. Face it. The 10-24 doesn't fit in your shirt pocket anyway. Fuji has some lovely wide and fast primes. Ooh! that 16mm f1.4? Just depends what you want. But 8mm wide (well, 12mm full frame)? This is amazing.
Great Lens - not for everyone
Truth is this is quickly becoming my favorite lens for my X series camera. The quality across the board it top notch. Simply a great lens. My two big issues - there is no way to protect the front element. While it is a WR lens, given the cost and the large exposed front element, I am a bit nervous to bring it out on a more daunting shoot. Second the angle of view is so wide that you really need to be sure you need a lens like this. It can be trick to keep distortion at a minimum, and really compose your shot. Ive been using it for Architecture and it has been great - but if I wasn't shooting Arch I'd be better served with the 10-24.
