Powered by a 64-bit 1.6 GHz Marvell ARMADA 8040 ARMv8 Cortex-A72 Quad-Core processor, the TS-1635AX 16-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP provides the computing power necessary to run a range of applications to help businesses grow as their data increases. It uses 4GB of DDR4 RAM, which comes in a 1 x 4GB configuration and can be upgraded to 16GB by a 16GB module in the one 288-pin DIMM slot. Network connectivity is achieved using the two 10GbE SFP+ and two Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing high-speed connectivity and versatile networking possibilities. This NAS allows for hardware expansion with one PCIe 3.0 x2 slot and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot, which would allow for a QM2 M.2 SSD, QM2 10GbE card, QWA-AC2600 wireless networking card, and/or a 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 card. Additional peripherals can be connected using three USB 3.0 Type-A ports.
The TS-1635AX offers high-capacity storage potential, with twelve 3.5"/2.5" SATA drive bays, four 2.5" SATA drive bays, and two M.2 2280 SATA slots. While the twelve 3.5"/2.5" bays are used for traditional storage, the four 2.5" bays and two M.2 slots are designed to be outfitted with SSDs for enabling Qtier 2.0 technology to boost performance. This NAS also supports JBOD, Single, and a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60, hot spare, and global hot spare, each of which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. Other integrated features include hardware-accelerated encryption of volumes and LUNs, Snapshots for disaster recovery, LXC and Docker containers and a Linux command line interface (CLI) for deploying virtualization applications, and more.
