The structure of the Light Dome II is fortified by its 16 durable steel support rods, while its silver interior maximizes your light source's output. Its 24" depth produces a focused light with directional control that can be narrowed further for selective lighting with the included 40° fabric grid. Aputure provides a removable inner diffuser and both 1.5-stop and 2.5-stop front diffusers that you can use individually or all at once for softness and contrast options. The supplied gel filter holder also offers creative color options. Aputure Light Dome II Reviews
NOT COMPATIBLE with Aputure 120d MK I Light
Although this light dome is a Bowens mount and should be compatible with the Aputure 120d MK I (not MK II), it does not lock into place unless you make some modifications to your light - you have to bend the front metal ring back a bit in order for it to fit correctly.

Great light quality!
Excellent!
Excellent build quality, sets up quickly and breaks down quickly. The bowens mount works with many lights in addition to Aputure.
Much improved design over the original
I have this in both the mini and regular sizes and like them much better than the original Light Dome. Having lighter poles that are permanently connected to the Bowens ring is SO MUCH faster than dealing with trying to bend and fit the little rods from the previous model. This is how all domes should be made. Bonus that Aputure includes the carry bag and grid without having to purchase them separately. The mini is great for product stuff and for hair lights and the full dome is great as a key for interviews, etc.
Well made, easy to set up
Very well made, simple to set up and tear down. I like the light quality as well.
Easy Setup and teardown
Setting up this soft box is a breeze compared to the first version. Using the buttons to release the supports is much faster and better for on location use. Including an Unbleached Muslin diffusion and a grid are also welcome additions to this kit and make it much more versatile. My only complaint is I wish the bag was another inch bigger. It is a tight fit getting it back in the bag.
Won't mount to light
I purchased this softbox to use on Aputure's LS 300x (one of their many Bowens Mount lights), but the softbox won't mount. The mount's neck is too short, which restricts entry and locking. Compared with Aputure's Fresnel 2X, which does mount properly, this softbox mount's neck is .25mm too short. Photos attached.
Everything I Expected!
Easy to set up, great quality and grid easy to attach and remove. I read good things about this softbox so it was everything I had expected.
