This Cello 10" On-Camera RGBAW LED Light Kit with Diffuser from B&H combines the Luxli Cello 10" On-Camera LED Light with a very useful accessory: the Luxli Softbox which has been specifically designed for the Cello. The Cello features 176 RGBAW LEDs and three different modes: color temperature, RGB, or filter. Two rotating knobs allow you to adjust the color temperature/color and brightness independently. You can use the downloadable app for more precise control, and even program the light to produce effects.
The softbox snaps onto your Cello and features a matte black exterior with a matte white interior finish that does not color the light's output. Designed specifically for the Luxli Cello, the hood features a removable diffusion filter and collapses for transport and storage.

What is needed to run the Cello on A/C power, and is that cable included?
Luxli Cello will accept 7 to 15 volts DC though its 2.1 mm barrel jack.
Its easy to make custom DC cords for whatever kind of mobile power supply you may own. For example, I made three kinds of cords:
1) Male 2.1 mm barrel plugs on both ends to power a single Luxli Cello from an OmniCharge 20 DC in/out port (2.1 mm barrel).
2) MR30 to male 2.1 mm barrel plug to power a single Luxli Cello from an OmniCharge Ultimate 150 watt DC out port (MR30).
3) MR30 to three male 2.1 mm barrel plugs wired in parallel to power three Luxli Cellos simultaneously from a single OmniCharge Ultimate.
Bonus: the small AC to DC charging brick that comes with OmniCharge 20 and the larger brick that comes with OmniCharge Ultimate will also power Luxli Cello.

This is my first time using color lighting.. would you suggest 2 of these or 1 ?
Well, if you're mounting the light on a camera, one is all you need. They put out a pretty good amount of light, but two will only work if you're lighting a small area. Say someone's torso

Looking at the photometrics of the Cello (115.2 fc / 1239.6 lux at 3.29' / 1 m) is it fair to say it would take about three Cello's to create a similar light output to the Timpani (which is 318.6 fc / 3430 lux at 3.28' / 1 m)?
These ARE underpowered for anything more than interior closeups.

I purchased the Fujia 12V AC Power Supply as suggested; should the battery be installed in the Luxli Cello when using the DC adapter or should it be removed?
I leave the battery inthat way, if anything interrupts the power source, the battery keeps the light on and connected to the app over Bluetooth without interruption. More than once, that feature has saved my bacon on a shoot.

Or are there other third-party soft boxes with grid options that could work?
Unfortunately, the Angler Collapsible Softbox for 6x12 LED Lights B&H # ANLCSB1206 is too large to fit the Luxli Cello 10 LED Light nor are there any available softboxes for it at this time.
