Garmin Edge Explore overview

  • 1Description

With turn-by-turn Garmin Cycle Map navigation and Trendline popularity routing to find the on- and off-road routes most-traveled by cyclists, the Garmin Edge Explore helps you get the most out of your ride. This rain-friendly bike computer with a bright, weatherproof 3" touchscreen uses built-in GPS to track how far, how fast, how high, and where you ride, and it's compatible with Garmin's Varia line of smart lights and rearview radar for a safer experience. Sync the Edge Explore with your phone for Live Track so friends and family can follow your progress, Group Track so you can keep tabs on fellow riders and send them pre-written messages, and third-party apps from the Connect IQ store, such as AccuWeather MinuteCast. You can plan routes on such sites as Strava, Komloot, or Wikiloc and upload them to the Edge Explore, and even get directions to local attractions from Yelp.

The Edge Explore's rechargeable battery lasts up to 12 hours on a full charge. It carries an IPX7 water resistance rating and will withstand splashing and rain.

Employing GPS satellite guidance, Edge Explore is pre-loaded with the Garmin Cycle Map and includes turn-by-turn navigation and Trendline popularity routing, pulling from billions of miles of cycling data to find the routes and trails that actual cyclists prefer. It can guide you back to the route if you deviate, or back to the starting point.
Sync your Edge Explore with your smartphone to access LiveTrack (to let your friends and family follow your real-time location) and GroupTrack (to keep tabs on up to 50 of your riding buddies). Send pre-written messages to fellow riders' Edge devices.

    Garmin Edge Explore reviews

Edge Explore GPS is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't ask for more If you want to truly explore where a road bike can take you, and you've been afraid to venture beyond your well worn trails for fear of getting lost, this GPS is exactly what you've been looking for. For a very reasonable price, you get what most cyclists, except perhaps the pros, might need in a GPS, including 99% of what I had in my Edge 510, and you get to explore hundreds of roads and trials that you've probably been missing. Buy it!
