OWC Express 4M2 Overview

The Express 4M2 4-Slot M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure from OWC / Other World Computing is designed to house separately sold solid-state drives via four M.2 2280 slots. Store and carry your music, photos, and personal data safely wherever you go with the enclosure's durable aluminum body. Connect to devices via the two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which can also be used along with the DisplayPort to extend your system's screen. In terms of visuals, the Express 4M2 outputs resolution up to 4K at 60 Hz.

The Express 4M2 4-Slot M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure includes SoftRAID XT, which supports Supports RAID 0, 1, 10, 4, 5, 6, and JBOD modes. A Thunderbolt 3 cable, power supply, and charging cable are also included. This enclosure is compatible with devices running Windows and Mac operating systems. The Express 4M2 4-Slot M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure has been tested with 8TB drives and supports a total capacity of 32TB. Please note, all drives are available separately.

For best performance and to avoid compatibility issues, please make sure your system is running macOS 13.5 or later.
NVMe SSD
Non-Volatile Memory Express provides an efficient communication interface protocol, so you can utilize SSD technology and high-performance connection buses like PCIe. Furthermore, there is room for four NVMe SSDs while also supporting multiple enclosures, advanced drive monitoring, e-notifications, and downloadable updates.
SoftRAID Compatible
The OWC Express 4M2 features a SoftRAID engine for sturdy performance. Moreover, SoftRAID protects your data by alerting you to issues before anything happens, ensuring you're protected. Advanced monitoring tools work behind the scenes to keep your RAID running in tip-top shape.
RAID and Storage Spaces
The OWC Express 4M2 comes with SoftRAID XT so you can customize this enclosure for speed or data redundancy. Choose from RAID 0, 1, 10, 4, 5, 6, and JBOD mode for storage that fits the needs of your project.
DisplayPort
Extend your screen with a DisplayPort output located on the rear of the OWC Express 4M2.
Thunderbolt 3
The OWC Express 4M2 is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and comes with an OWC Thunderbolt 3 cable, which is Thunderbolt certified for Mac and Windows. Moreover, the OWC Express 4M2 is backward compatible with Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2.
Multi-Drive
The OWC Express 4M2 comes equipped with an OWC SoftRAID, which provides RAID compatibility across multiple drive enclosures. Furthermore, add Express 4M2 drives to your storage pool using Windows Storage Spaces. Configure and reconfigure your storage however you need by combining multiple OWC Express 4M2 drives together on Mac and Windows systems.
Windows Compatible
The OWC Express 4M2 fully supports Windows workflows using Windows Storage Spaces. Pool the four M.2 NVMe SSDs together with support for all the storage spaces with configuration options, including the ability to add another OWC Express 4M2 to expand your storage pool on the fly.
