  • 1Description
Found in: Work Laptops

The space gray mid 2017 Apple 13.3" MacBook Pro is faster and more powerful, yet thin at 0.59" and lightweight at just 3 lb. This system is powered by a 7th Gen Kaby Lake 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor that features a burst speed of up to 3.6 GHz, while 16GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs.

The 13.3" IPS Retina display features a WQXGA 2560 x 1600 screen resolution with a 227 ppi pixel density. It has LED backlighting with a maximum brightness of 500 nits, and it includes support for the P3 wide color gamut. Integrated Intel Iris Graphics 640 delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you'll also be able to output video to an external display using the system's Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output. One Thunderbolt 3 port can support one multi-panel 5K display at resolutions up to 5120 x 2880 at 60 Hz, or dual 4K displays at resolutions up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz, each of which are able to support over a billion colors.

For long-term storage of your files, this MacBook Pro is equipped with a 256GB PCIe SSD, with sequential read speeds up to 3.1 GB/s and sequential write speeds up to 2.1 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, dual Thunderbolt 3 ports support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, while also supporting 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 and device charging. 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi is built-in for wireless networking, and Bluetooth 4.2 technology will also allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals. Other integrated features include a 720p webcam, dual microphones, stereo speakers, a 78-key backlit keyboard with 12 function keys and four arrow keys, an ambient light sensor, and a larger Force Touch trackpad.

The 13.3" MacBook Pro includes a 61W USB Type-C power adapter that operates using 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz, a 6.6' USB Type-C charging cable, and a built-in 54.5Wh lithium-ion polymer battery that lasts for up to 10 hours before recharging is required - or up to 30 days of standby time. macOS High Sierra is the installed operating system.

Please note that this Mac may come with an earlier version of macOS. You can upgrade to the latest version through the Mac App Store app.

General Features

Flash Storage
The embedded 256GB PCIe SSD provides sequential read speeds up to 3.2 GB/s and sequential write speeds up to 2.2 GB/s.
Battery
Up to 10 hours of battery life is available for tasks such as iTunes movie playback and web surfing.
Retina Display
The display in the MacBook Pro features 500 nits and an increased contrast ratio, delivering deeper blacks and brighter whites. Its larger pixel aperture and variable refresh rate make it more power efficient than previous generations. It also supports the P3 wide color gamut, which features 25% more colors than the commonly used sRGB gamut, for even more vibrant greens and reds. This helps ensure truer-to-life pictures with realistically vivid details, essential for graphic design, color grading, and editing.
Keyboard and Trackpad
Interacting with the MacBook Pro is a better experience all around. The keyboard has been redesigned to include a second-generation butterfly mechanism, which has been refined for greater comfort and responsiveness. The Force Touch trackpad is also much larger, giving your fingers more room to gesture and click.
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously or one multi-panel 5K display. The MacBook Pro has two ports, sharing one dedicated bus.

    Apple Z0UK-MPXT21-BH reviews

13.3" MacBook Pro (Mid 2017, Space Gray) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful machine Bought this machine as a gift to replace an old MacBook Air. The new MacBook Pro 13 is as light and slightly more compact than the old Air. The picture quality of the screen is noticeably superior, and the large touch pad and new key board (2017 model) make the interaction feel smooth and unconstricted despite the overall small size of the machine. We went with the i5, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SS drive configuration and so far the computer has blazed through any task it was confronted with - given the price point, we hope it will continue to do so in years to come...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect form & function. Great Compact laptop for mobile computing tasks (Adobe Lightroom, Bridge ... Internet browsing.etc). Top notch screen quality : bright & color accuracy/walnut. With 16gig ram & 256ssd HD everything runs perfectly. With a $25-$40 usb-c to usb3 ,hdmi hub I have more than enough ports when I need some. All the hardwares coupled with MacOS, it’s an awesome laptop! It did take me 3-4 days to read up and get familiar to MacOS (coming from Windows). Only one regret: why did I wait so long to switch to MacOS;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 16G ram is more important After the disappointing WWDC with no hardware announcement , I decided to get a 2017 model MacBook Pro with discount. One of my friends bought the one with a touch bar here in B&H also, which I think is not as important as having more ram. So I purchased this 16g ram model, it is great, as the first 16G ram laptop I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as expected. Just as expected and that's a good thing. My first time ordering from B&H and, they did not disappoint. The packaging was well done and prevented any damage on transit. The Macbook was perfect exactly as I expected it to be with prior research and reviews. You can't beat the price I got for it either, a promotional of -200$ and no tax. Exact same product as the Applestore but, 400$ less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MacBook Pro 2017 - Love It!! I've been a windows user for many years, but decided to get an MBP to gain knowledge and use for mobile and other types of software development. The speed that the OS loads is far better than my windows laptop with comparable specs. The interface is crystal clear and there are many articles to assist newbies like myself with quickly coming up to speed on the differences with key commands. So far I have no complaints or anything I'd wish for that was missing or could be improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Macbook Pro a day keeps, windows away!!!! I absolutely love my MacBook Pro, I previously had a older model (5years old) that died on me out of nowhere and B&H was my salvation. Not only did they have the model I wanted but the price was unbeatable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine! I bought this MacBook Pro 13.3" with 16GB Ram 256GB HD almost 2 and half months ago. This is my first Mac Book ever. So far the computer is working fine; it can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. It does not get hot - just gets warm near the vent area when I am doing multitasking, but it's OK and understandable because fans turn on. Definitely it does NOT get hot or make any noise like other laptops such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung etc. etc. Note, I had used Dell laptop for good 7-8 years, which was my first laptop ever, and it worked fantastically, but that laptop was on the higher end side ($$ and configuration). I am just comparing this machine to others; I'm not against any other brand. With Apple, you are paying more money, but you are getting better machine too. One can buy a better laptop from other manufacturers with the same amount of money, but my personal experience is if you wana spend =>$1500 then pick a Mac book because trust me it's worth it. It's light weight, quiet, bright, and looks Cool!! The web cam is good too. In the beginning, I did not like the small thunderbolt ports which are only 2 on my model, but then I bought a USB adapter from Amazon (got a deal under $10 apple brand :)) and now I can hookup anything via USB. I love the track pad because I can move back and forth and zoom in-out by just moving fingers. The one touch click feature is a plus. Just a friendly advice, buy a key board cover and Mac book cover to protect this beautiful machine. You would thanks to me for that because no matter what one would spill water or drop cookie crumbs on the key board lol so you gotta be prepared for that. The key board, I think they call it butterfly mechanism, works flawlessly. Typing on this new keyboard is a fun - click sound is pleasing to the ear and no stress on the fingers. Apple advertised the Battery can last up to 10 hours, but in my personal experience Yes it can last for 6-7 hours, if you are just doing one task at a time or using for browsing, checking mails etc. But still you need to minimize the brightness of the backlit key board and adjust the screen brightness to around 10 clicks max. I did some research on that why Apple is saying 10 hrs. battery life and I conclude that Apple may tested that in a controlled environment where they stopped all of the unnecessary programs that runs in the back ground and may be adjusted screen brightness, quite Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and also tested by running only one task for 10 hours. But for random user on a daily basis, it's almost impossible to achieve 10 hours battery time. I don't play games or edit videos on it but still i can't get 10 hrs. So remember that you will not get 10 hrs., but 6-7 which is pretty good compare to others. The 3.5mm headphone jack is great and it's good to have it. The on-board speakers are good, loud enough, but still if you are at a public place then definitely you need a headphone - with blue tooth or wire. The only negative I have noticed in 2 and half month of usage is that it has frozen twice. I was browsing and watching YouTube same time, and i don't know what happened, it just got hung. After touching/ pressing track pad, keys, nothing happened, so I just hit the power button and rebooted it. This is the only issue I have had so far. Other than that this machine is working smoothly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Apple Does It Again Fast, light, beautiful....I'm not sure what else you could ask for in a laptop. It handles Lightroom so much faster than my old computer. #sweepstakes
