Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Nikon F Mount

Utilizing a multi-layer coating process for consistent color rendition from lens to lens the Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens answers the challenge of assembling a set of lenses over time. The lens comes in Nikon F Mount and it features industry standard geared focus and iris rings that share common position with other Rokinon Cine DS lenses. To aid focus pullers who have to work both sides of the lens, the aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens.

This 85mm lens produces a 28.3° angle-of-view when used with a full-frame sensor camera or a 35mm SLR. Hybrid aspherical lenses render sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations, with a minimum focus distance of 3'6" from the lens. A removable lens hood provides flare protection when shooting without a matte box and the lens's threaded front accepts 72mm filter rings.

Ultra Multi Coated lenses minimize flare and ghosting, and the lenses are color matched to a standard eliminating the need to acquire an entire set of lenses at the same time.

A removable lens hood provides flare protection without a matte box.

question

How does this lens work on lowlight?
Asked by: Pedro
@B&H Staff: Could you please provide a bit more clarity? Doesn't F-stop measure the amount of light that enters the front of the lens (based on the width of the opening of the diaphragm), while T-stop measures the amount of light making it to the back of the lens? Thus, T3.1 is faster than F3.1.

Will these Cinema lenses work on a Z Cam E2 S6?
Asked by: Windy
I am using this lens on a Black Magic Pocket 6K Camera which has native EF mount, so it should work equally well on the EF mount flavor of Z CAM E2 S6.

question

Has anyone had this lens fall apart? If so, can it be repaired or better to replace?
Asked by: Amanda E.
I had the 35mm version of this lens fall apart. The internal mechanisms are plastic. There are no spare parts available for purchase and Rokinon will not do repairs on their cheaper line of lenses. I was able to open up the lens and glue the broken plastic pieces back together and it works perfectly again.

Is this lens compatible with the Z-CAM E2?
Asked by: IAN
I think you can use it with the Z-CAM E2 with a Nikon to MFT adapter. This will save a few dollars as the Nikon version is a bit less expensive. I assume the crop factor will function in similar fashion regardless of lens version. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=nikon to mft adapter
