The black Polsen RM-800 is a large-diaphragm, side-address, cardioid condenser microphone that's designed for exacting capture of speech, vocals, and instruments in professional, project, and home recording studios. The sleek RM-800 microphone will add as much style to your studio as it does high-end audio. Not only is it stylishly designed, but it's constructed with a metal housing for rugged durability.
It features a large and highly sensitive 1.4" gold-plated diaphragm that captures sources with detailed accuracy. The high SPL capacity, low noise, and wide dynamic range meet the demands for clear and natural sound in both commercial and personal studios. If you're working in an acoustically untreated room or performing on stage, the RM-800's cardioid polar pattern picks up sound directly in front of the microphone while it rejects off-axis sound to help eliminate noise. Room and ambient noise are minimized by the selectable high-pass filter, and the selectable -10 dB pad allows the microphone to maintain pure sound quality when recording loud sound sources up to 155 dB SPL. To further ensure clean vocals, the RM-800 includes a shockmount to eliminate vibrations, a custom metal pop screen to minimize disruptive vocal plosives, a reducer bushing to fit any mic stand, and a carrying case to protect the mic during transport and storage.- For Vocals, Instruments & Podcasts

Polsen RM-800 Reviews
Imperfect Recording Solution
I often record in my apartment or at the studio where I work - there is a ton of background noise like traffic, air conditioners, and creaky floors. The high pass filter for perfect for filtering those consistent background hums. Of course, a little fancy editing too. Arrived right in the delivery window, customer service from B&H is great as always.
Stylish, well-built, sounds great
I bought four of these for a studio podcast setup. I had a bit of buyer's remorse at first before receiving the order since I could find so little about the brand on the web. But after setting up and testing, I was very happy with the overall quality, and the sound I would describe as uncolored, transparent, and non-fatiguing. The microphone captures vocals accurately. The included metal pop filter works ok, but is not as effective as a dedicated cloth pop filter. You may want to consider that if you will be doing close-up vocals. Shock mount looks great, but there is a bit of microphone wobble if you have to adjust the mount, for example, if you have an articulating mic stand. The case is vinyl, not leather, but still a nice touch.
This microphone is one of the best value mic you can buy
Guys, this microphone is a beautiful well made professional microphone. it sounds very rich and smooth. it makes no noise at all, it is super quiet and has a nice balance rich tone to it. the two words that describe the sound is rich and smooth. the person below complaining about the buzzing may have a bad interface or a bad unit. I am not a paid reviewer. I purchased it for my home studio. Also, the presentation of the product is the best ever. I have an Aston Spirit mic which is $450 and the presentation of the polsen in the leather bag just completely knocked it out. It is a great microphone.

I love this Microphone that I got it from B&H.This mic made a lot of differnce on my home recordings It pick up the low end very clearly and I feel greatand the price compared to the big end is amazing. The dsp level 145db wow Thank you B&H
Buzz noise is very noticeable
I used my laptop with Fucosrite, the buzz noise is pretty annoying, higher than any of my mics.
Rich and smooth
Great great accessories Great carrying case This mic sounds like a $500 piece of gear...but it's only a quarter of the price. Great looking, great sounding mic. Can't go wrong [I received this product in exchange for my honest review]
after owning it a while...
Reviewed, then called to review again. I think that has value, though. I praise too soon with other things. But...this is a real gem....still! Quiet, smooth, bright. Punches way past its price.
smoothest sharpest mic i have ... it's incredible
I wanted something bright but not too bright, very quiet and clean, not too bulky or messy, with a low-cut filter switch. This blew me away...the high end is accurate and clean like a small-diaphragm, but the noise is undetectable when I use it...very nice. It sounds so oddly real that I don't do any post-EQualization...unlike the AT2020 or NT-1A I have. The TM-280 is as elegant sounding as this , but I always have to ramp up the high frequencies a bit. This RM800 has the accuracy and smoothness I have only heard from much more pricey mics. I am pleased with the deal. Makes the voice work easier.
