    Timbuk2 Parker Commuter Backpack Reviews

Parker Commuter Backpack (Surplus) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice! I wanted to give a review that is unbiased, I have seen a lot of reviews from customers who have received the product for free. I paid full price and I do not regret it! This bag has it all and the quality is impeccable! I use it for commuting on my motorcycle and even for work travel, it is perfect. As a female I was skeptical mainly because the bags looks so large in the pictures, let me assure you ladies out there on the fence- this bag is NOT too big it is the perfect size and does not make you look like your wearing a suitcase on your back! I know this bag will stand the test of time, I love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not many compartments The material is very good quality. The fit is good, it stays pretty stable. I ride bike and it's good for riding, the bag stays in place while riding, however there's a few cons. 1: There's no way to reach any pocket while wearing the bag, that means if you want to keep your phone or other item at hand in a pocket you have to stop and take the bag off. 2: My biggest complain about this bag: There's no internal compartments for organizing stuff, that means, all your items are simply dumped into large pockets, in other words, small items like pens, screws, thumbdrives, business cards, small cables, small headphones, whatever small thing you carry everyday will end up in the bottom of the bag. How can there not even be a single pen holder? or a single internal pocket smaller than 15 inches?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Legit Backpack I've been using this backpack for about two weeks now and my primary use is during my commute to and from work. I usually have my laptop, my gym clothes, my lunch/snacks, my water bottle, my kindle, and random odds and ends each day. Initially the vertical design was a bit off putting as I am used to a rounder bag (I used the Swissgear Upload for about 3 years). Once I got a bit more comfortable with the vertical design I found the distribution of weight to be better than my previous backpack. I love this bag for all the unique compartments. I've been in the rain a few times and nothing inside the bag got wet which was great. The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I do find the bag itself to be heavier than my Swissgear Upload. I think the trade off though is that the Parker Pack is made of a lot more durable material and will hopefully last me for a long time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a nice backpack I've been eyeing this bag for months now and finally got the chance to buy it. What really got me into purchasing it was because of its cordura material and that it can fit a ulock. While fitting my stuff inside though, I realized that my U-lock doesnt fit the side pocket like stated on the product description. I really don't get it. Is there a special way of putting it? Kindly suggest ways on putting it 'cause now this issue is bugging me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Laptop Protection! I waited a few months to write this review as my initial response to this bag was "overall great design but lacking some internal compartments" I see on other TBK2 bags. I organize the main compartment with a couple of organizers. 1 for tech and 1 for personal hygiene stuff like moisturizer and anti bacterial wipes. The main reason I love this bag is its ability to expand and most importantly its laptop protection. When I set the bag down, my laptop does not feel the impact at all. I have owned many bags, either for commuting to work, and/or djing and this bag by far protects your technology the best. I've had a chance to use the rain sleeve as well, and these features bring the bag to 5 stars instead of my initial thought which was 4. I can easily look past the lack of internal compartments by enjoying the pockets the bag has externally and just using my own forms of organization on the inside. This bag can hold a lot so its crucial to keep things organized. The straps are comfortable and the back support is comfortable and cool. Even on long walks and a full bag I don't sweat nearly as much as with other bags. Thanks for designing a wonderful bag, I will definitely purchase the update if there ever is one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Carryon Backpack for Travel! This backpack was recommended to me by the guys at Timbuk2 at the Venice store. It's really hard to find a travel backpack that will fit under the seat in flight, carry a 17" laptop, plus a week's worth of clothes (including 1 suit), makeup/toiletries, electronic cords and a pair of black heels. This backpack did all that plus with a bit of room to spare! It was way better than my old Ogio backpack that I was carrying. It had enough pockets but not to the point that it had so much organization that I couldn't make use of the pocket. While I am only 4'11" and by the time it was filled, the pack was a bit heavy, it met all my expectations and still looked sleek. I bought the surplus color and am extremely pleased with my purchase. As a previous reviewer commented, it's not really made for a short person but I'm willing to overlook that considering I only have to take one carryon bag on my flight that has everything I need for the week. Totally recommend this for those of you who are more on the minimalist side of traveling and don't like the hassle of checking in bags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again I have had this for a month now and I really like this bag. Its sturdy and fits all my work and gym essentials perfectly. The side access for the laptop is the most convenient thing if you decide to work at a coffee shop or would like to quickly get your laptop out to show someone something at a conference. I wish it had more pockets on the inside, but that is just personal preference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag but....... I use this bag for work, I carry a 15" Dell laptop rugged, cables, wireless mouse, presentation pointer, hydro flask, notebook, and misc tools. The bag and flame color is excellent. It feels durable and comfortable to carry daily. My only gripe is i wish it had a pocket organizer for my pens, markers, and business cards.
