The 20" Spectro LED Baton Stick Light from Genaray has a unique design and advanced technology that not only makes creative expression easy - it makes it fun! The Baton's 110-degree beam spread and long, slim shape provide for dramatic, selective illumination.

Color temperature is variable from 2800 to 6500K in 100K increments but for working quickly, you can also use the Preset Buttons to jump to 2800, 3200, 4300, 5600, or 6500K. Anyway you use it though, you'll benefit from the Baton's CRI rating of 95 to 98 and TLCI rating of 95 - indicators of high accuracy in color rendering. Light intensity is also variable from 100 to 10% in 1% increments and like color temperature has Preset Buttons that switch you to 25, 50, 75, or 100% power instantly. While you can make color and dimming adjustments locally on the fixture and see them displayed on the unit's LCD screen, you can also make them on one or on several Batons remotely from a console via onboard DMX.

The entire length of the Baton is dovetailed, allowing it to be supported and secured at any point in its intelligently designed Arca-Type Ball Head Mount, which offers 360-degree rotation and 180-degree tilting. The mount has a 5/8" receiver for industry-standard light stands but by removing its tightening knob, the mount can be used as a 1-1/8" pin that inserts into a Junior stand's receiver. Alternatively, the Baton comes with two strong magnetic disks that attach firmly to any metal surface. The Baton is ready for worldwide use via its universal 100 to 240 VAC power supply but there's another option. Ideal for hand-holding, one of the Baton's convenient features is the Battery Handle that frees you from the AC outlet, allowing you to respond quickly in action scenarios and create exciting effects like light trails. The handle's optional rechargeable lithium-ion battery delivers two hours of battery power to the Baton and has charge indicators to keep you appraised of remaining charge. A carry case is included for storage and transport.

DMX Control

You can make color and dimming adjustments locally on the fixture and see them displayed on the unit's LCD screen. You can also make them on one or on several Batons remotely from a console via onboard DMX

Genaray Baton 20 Reviews

Great Light Stick

The big benefit to the Genaray Spectro LED Baton Stick vs. other light tubes is there is no internal battery, which makes throwing it in a checked back for flights possible. Works great as a hair light for interviews on the go. Nice soft light. The ability to quickly and easily change the color temperature and light strength is a huge plus.

Phenomenal light

Was looking for a webcam light that would fit nicely on the side of a monitor. I’ve used smaller harshly bright rectangular lights that create more shadows than they remove. This light creates such a pleasant light without harsh hotspots on my retina. I leave it on all day at about 25% pointed right at me. It illuminates my work area and feels a bit like a seasonal affective disorder light on a low setting - very pleasant. But it creates a beautiful light without shadows on the webcam. I honestly didn’t know I was so handsome. I feel one is plenty to up your webcam game in a room with good general illumination. Love the controls on the back and top. The color temp control allows it to match the illumination in any room or give a bit more warmth. Comes with a great bag with an overkill hard sleeve for the lamp to protect against elephants sitting on it, and with a pocket full of exactly the accessories you need and might have to buy separately otherwise. Having used it and experienced the build quality I would have guessed it was 2-3 times more expensive than it was. Has my highest recommendation.

Awesome Light - You will Want More Than One!

The Genaray Spectro LED Baton Stick Light is simply amazing! The only problem that I have is that I want more of them. The color temperature is spot on and its so easy to change the variable because all you have to do is press a button.I shoot a lot of product and commercial items and color accuracy is critical and this light does not let me down.Being able to adjust the output by 1% increments is fantastic but I love the ability to jump by 25 increments at the push of a button. When it comes to use cases for this light there is no way to list them all. This light is amazing as a stand-alone unit and the possibilities when combined with other Batons are endless. Please note that this light is packed beautifully and securely. You will not have a problem or a worry when transporting it to and from shoots within the provided carrying case. This light is pure fun and creativity with every bit of detail provided to ensure accuracy for a professional shoot.Pick one up and you will want more![I have received this product in exchange for my honest review].

A great addition to my lighting arsenal!!

I have the 20” version. Not too long, nor too short. The perfect length for transporting with ease and works well with any run and gun scenarios. I’d LOVE to try the 53” version! Whoever designed this light at Genaray is probably a wedding filmmaker... This tube style light is a game changer and the ultimate in run-and-gun design, compared to many other lights of its type and design. The main feature that blew me away was the convenience of that quick access to the 25% 50% 75% 100% buttons / presets, as well as the 4 increments on White balance presets from 2800K to 6500K - Although the Baton allows you to do all settings and fine tunings manually, its so much quicker than clicking 100 times on other panels, especially dealing with bridal preparations where you can miss a shot fumbling with dialing values on the usual up down arrows and dialing knobs found as a limitation on every light I’ve own before. That preset feature alone is a SALE to me! The light intensity can also be set by 1% increments, can go all the way down to 10% when set manually and the Kelvin temp as little as 100K increments! What else could you want? Protection: not only it comes included with a padded case, but it also comes with a beautiful and super hard cylindrical tube base, fully cushioned outside and out for double protection. The main compartment comes with 2 stitched Velcros which you can leave that tube permanently attached to the case inside. You simply slide the light out and put it back in without removing the tube, leaving it permanently on the case. (Again, run-and-gun convenience in mind) The light is soft and the closer you place the light, the softer it gets. DMX: I havent had the opportunity to use them with DMX as I don’t own a DMX controller. I wish it could be operated by a remote control plus DMX... It features a magnetic mount too! What???? Imagine this... you can mount thing thing on any metallic surface, the design of the magnets will also allow you to tie a rope there, which you can hang this even over a tree branch. Also very useful to rest the light on the pavement or any flat surface (when tired taking a break) with the magnet feet on it preventing scratching the light’s body by only allowing the magnets base / feet to contact the ground. I wish Genaray would include a 2mm thin rubber pad / disc to attach on the magnets bottom side, because when removing the magnets from delicate surfaces such as a refrigerator door, you can easily scratch that fridge’s door, since the magnets are very strong, having a metal with metal contact. I fixed mine by adding a FLAT, 2mm thin polyurethane feet from a local hardware store (orange logo). CAUTION: if you use ordinary feet that you usually find, or install anything thicker than 2mm (regular feet), it will interfere with the magnetic power and risking the light to fall. Be smart about that. If you can’t find that at your hardware store, don’t do it. Weight: Without battery, and for the Genaray Baton being a longer tube, thus providing more light, it weighs just a little more than the popular Ice light. Speaking of battery, it’s an optional purchase to keep the cost down, as it is also meant to be a Studio light. I highly recommend purchasing the battery for freedom of use anywhere. The battery (my copy) when fully charged for the second time after calibrating its cells, it lasts a whopping 2 hours, 15 minutes, compared to the Ice Light Version 1 lasting only 1 hour. That’s why the Baton (made of 95% metal) is heavier than the Ice Light, (made mostly of plastic). You asked for metal, Genaray made it. And the battery weight is the trade-off deal for giving us over 2 hours of runtime. It’s common sense. Battery performance = a little bit of weight. 600 grams to be precise. The battery also features a 1/4-20 thread mount on the bottom to mount it. CAUTION: I only recommend mounting the light on the battery’s thread in VERTICAL. In horizontal mode, you’ll be adding a LOT of stress on the 5/8 stud mount and risking breaking the battery’s thread. To mount the light in HORIZONTAL, vertical or anything in between (especially with the battery added): The entire light has a Arca Swiss Mount and can be placed anywhere along the entire light’s body. This is super innovative and great way to mount it on either a Boom arm (you’ll need counter weight added) or a C stand. You can adjust that in any angle. AND, you don’t have to slide it like a 501 Manfrotto plate. When the Arca mount’s knob is fully loose, it has enough clearance to rest the light’s rail on it, then you tighten it down. Perfect. When using with the optional battery, the light’s center of gravity will be slightly above, between the battery and the beginning of the light’s rail. Overall this light is tough and well built, innovative in many ways and very soft and bright. I can’t imagine how much fun the 53” would be! Another way to power this light if you have a cigarrete plug Battery By Genaray as well https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1091268-REG/genaray_mb_bccl_12v_cigarette_lighter_battery_cable.html [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review.]
