what is the condition of the camera and len kit? ...

what is the condition of the camera and len kit? what is shutter count?
Asked by: Trong Tien
I ordered one of these and the condition was mint, you could not see any evidence of use. The shutter count was 4. Basically I think I got a camera that was returned for refurb immediately after purchase. Obviously there is no guarantee that this is the norm but I was very happy with my purchase. The camera and lens have been flawless; I am probably at about 15k on the shutter now. I generally like to buy refurbs because you know that equipment was checked out by someone in detail, probably more carefully that coming off the production line.

Does any owner use Nikkor 200-500mm f5.6 VR lens and FTZ with this camera? If you do, do you set the 'Auto Distortion Control' feature ON? If you set it ON, have you experienced any sharpness issue with your photos? Thank you.
Asked by: George
I assume you mean the camera VR. It shuts off with lenses that have VR.

Has any owner experienced the shutter curtain ...

Has any owner experienced the shutter curtain stuck and camera asks to press the shutter button? I got this issue few times and what I did was to reset all settings and turned the camera off and removed the battery from the camera for few minutes. My camera just got around 3000 shots or so, I believe. Thank you.
Asked by: George
Hi George, I have had similar issues since I got this camera in August of 2019. Most recently, it happened a few days ago when I was shooting with the FTZ and a 1980's vintage AF Nikkor 80-200 f2.8. I was shooting landscapes on a tripod in silent mode with a 2 sec delay. Exposures ranged from 2 sec to about .5 sec at ISO 64. The temperature outside was about 45 F and the camera didn't seem to be overheating. It took about 20 minutes of shooting before I started to get the error. I would take a shot, wait for the histogram to come back in the viewfinder (I was not using the LCD at all) then take my next shot. After a while, the histogram would not come back onscreen but I would get the error. The only way to get rid of the onscreen error would be to shut off the camera and turn it back on. Hitting the shutter button did nothing. At times, I would have to pull the battery out and put it back in because rebooting the camera would not help alone. I have had this problem with Nikon batteries and with third party batteries, so, something tells me the issue isn't with the batteries but, rather, with the electronics (hardware) or the firmware. I'm going to run more tests to see if I can pinpoint how to get rid of this error but let us know if you find an answer. I love this camera and would hate to have this issue if I upgrade to the Z7 II; and I would really hate to go back to Canon because the Z lenses are just so great. My firmware is v2.01 which I am going to update today to the latest 3.2. My bad for not doing this sooner. My camera actuation amount is 32,550. I'll let you know if I come up with a solution but I doubt we're the only ones having this problem. I hope this helps. Good luck. Regards, andyu

How does the battery perform in shooting time lapses? How long or how many shots it can take before another recharge?
Asked by: Somsubhra
I can generally shoot about 800+ Raw images without having to change batteries. The battery lasts much longer than originally thought. I have had no problems when I carry another charged battery with me.

Due to the 45.7 megapixel image produced by this camera, is the image quality inferior when using adaptive lenses (w/FTZ) ? I understand focus issues, etc. are magnified when using higher megapixel sensors.
Asked by: Ralph
With Nikon FTZ adaptor, all Nikon lenses work perfect, for the 45.7 sensor. I have used lenses from 12mm to 600mm, quality are all good, especially for landscaping.
