Benro Tripster Travel 1 Series Tripod Reviews
Definitely worth the trip!
I did extensive research before pulling the trigger on the Tripster. A travel tripod will always be a compromise, a trade-off between folded length, extended length, weight and stability. In my opinion, the Benro Tripster provides an optimal relationship between these factors. It also provides the best bang for the buck among travel tripods. Folded, this Carbon Fiber tripod compacts to 14.1 and weighs in at 3 pounds. It comes with a draw-corded, lightweight travel sack. You might consider purchasing a separate padded case for excursions on a plane, but in the backpack, the corded sack works just fine. The tripod legs fold over the ballhead for trasport and then fold down in use. Most tripods that fold up smaller than 15" do not extend beyond 53"; this one extends to 59". There is a hook on the bottom of the tripod where you can add ballast like a backpack to increase its weight to add stability...useful if there is a stiff breeze. While the Benro Tripster is rated to hold 17.6 pounds, I suggest you do not exceed half the rating for this and other carbon fiber tripods. B&H is a first class operation. The tripod was well packed in a sturdy shipper, and arrived two days after I ordered it. B&H remains my go to source for camera gear and accessories. They get it right!
Super convenient and portable
Smaller and lighter than I thought it would be when fully closed Easy to use Quick plate is a little tricky to get off at first but actually a smart and innovative design
Works well for travel
I've used the Benro Tripster tripod for some hiking and backpacking with great results. It's been solid with both my Canon bodies and lenses and had enabled me to put them on a tripod where in the past my standard tripod was too heavy and large to take with me.
Decent for the price
For the price, it's pretty good. Comes with ball head which has a tension adjustment and a quick release plate. Also comes with a spike feet kit. I've used it on my Z6 with a 24-70. Stable enough on solid ground. On soft ground the small legs can sink in the ground a ways and can be wobbly. Folds up small and light enough for a long hike which is what I got it for.
Solid piece for a solid price
So far, so good with this tripod. Seems well made and sturdy for travel purposes. For just over $200, great value for money.
Don't Like the Twist Legs
If you twist too much the lens disconnect from the rest of the tripod.
great travel tripod
I wanted a tripod that was sturdy but very portable. This one does the trick. Very happy so far.
Solid and flexible
I haven't had a chance to use this outside yet but it is compact, flexible and provides a lot of options. So far, very happy with my purchase.
