These are for my Aputure 120d ii set, and the barndoors are nice. They are felt-lined to decrease light spill, which is a nice touch. The honeycomb/egg crate insert fits in well. Overall a solid addition.

Stick with Aputure barn doors for Aputure lights. I bought cheaper versions for someone else that fell apart after a few months and didn't fit as well as Aputure. Tossed them and bought 5 sets of Aputure and never had a problem with them. The doors are the right size (bigger) and made right- solid. Buy cheap buy twice! :)

Use this on my one lonely continuous light. The Bowens mounts easily and really like the magnetic mount for grid and gels. Doors are correct size to control light without spill. Would like to be able to get extra gel holders. Good deal for the price.

Bought these to fit on a Smallrig 220D actually and they fit just fine, even over the hyper reflector (with less effect because of the narrower beam angle). Decent edge sharpness, nice having the gel holder built in. Would recommend.

Will this give a tighter beam than the Impact Fresnel Spot-S Mount? I know barn doors would allow more power over shaping directions. But I am wondering about creating a narrow beam
Both options would offer a directional beam, but the barndoors would have a sharper edge while a fresnel spot will have a softer edge.

What is the diameter of the opening of the filter holder? Would gels cut to 6" square cover the opening?
You would want to use a larger gel and leave room for it to vent heat. Rosco gels would be good https://bhpho.to/2sVC9K8. Placing a gel too close or blocking heat can cause the gel to deteriorate very quickly.

Will the Aputure Barndoor (MFR #BARNDOOR) work with the Aputure 600d or 600x light?
You should purchase the F10 version of the barndoors, as the power output will burn the felt lining. It also has larger leaves that are better matched to that particular fixture.
