Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM Overview

This bright design yields excellent low-light performance along with enhanced control over depth of field for isolating subject matter. Standard wide-angle to short-telephoto zoom lens is designed for use with full-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras.
Impressively bright f/2 maximum aperture maintains consistent illumination throughout the zoom range and suits working in low-light conditions as well as affords increased control over depth of field for working with selective focus techniques.
Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) elements are featured in the optical design, and help to suppress color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve greater clarity and color accuracy throughout the zoom range.
A ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM), along with an internal focusing design, optimized focusing algorithms, and a high-speed CPU, is employed to deliver fast, precise, and quiet autofocus performance as well as full-time manual focus override.
Configurable Control Ring can be used to adjust a variety of exposure settings, including aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation.
As a member of the esteemed L-series, this lens has a weather-resistant design that protects against dust and moisture to enable its use in inclement conditions.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

how bad is the focus breathing?

how bad is the focus breathing?
Asked by: patrick
Focus breathing on this drives me nuts, it isn't bad, but it isn't minimal as other have said, granted, the worst part is jumping in that close range (1' to 4'). So if you are using this for vlogging, and move around, it is bad. But using it at my kids concert this week, it doesn't do bad at the longer focus distances, even though that was still more than a 20' focus change on the stage, at 30' away.

What is your choice for portraits? This lens or the 85mm 1.2
Asked by: Sean
Both lenses are good for portraits but the 85mm 1.2 is best. It will give you the sharpest image when needed and the bokeh will be far superior to the 24-70.

My local camera shop didn't have any 95 mm ...

My local camera shop didn't have any 95 mm filters in stock, so I went to Best Buy to pick up something while I wait for my filter to come in. My question (concern) for others, is my lens hood doesn't seem to fit properly now that the filter is on. I can see/feel a slight lip larger then the barrel of the lens and I'm sure that this is what's causing the hood from not going on without a fight. Does anyone else have filters on them and/or have this problem? I'm hoping it is isolated to this particular filter.
Asked by: Jonathan
You should not have a issue if you use proper filter , like B+W
