I've used several EF and EF-S lenses with it, including a Sigma lens. I have zero issues with it!

A Great Replacement for a Damaged Mount Adaptor

I've used this adaptor for a couple of years. The one I have been using was damaged and this one was ordered to replace it. It is providing excellent performance and I am as happy with this one as I was with the original. It provides fully transparent performance between the camera and lens. The autofocus is fast and accurate. I fully recommend it as an adapter.

Great adapter. So glad I got this to go with my R7 - so many EF lenses that would just be sitting on a shelf without it!

It works great. No loss in f-stop, like an extension has.

It's great that Canon provides this little mount. It makes it easier to migrate to the new R-mount with your existing EF lenses. Saves a lot of money not being forced to switch to only R lenses. It does what is supposed to do. No issues. Connectivity is seamlessly and everything works.

Is there any rotational play/wiggle/slack with EF lenses with this adapter, or is the adapter tight and doesn't have any play?
Asked by: Thatcher
ABSOLUTLEY NOT! On multiple lenses from 16-35mm ef to my 400mm f2.8. I bought 2 since I have a lot of L series Ef lenses! Image quality up to 24-36 enlargement does not seem affected.

Will this Adapter be compatible with the R5 R6 & EF L lenses?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, I use it on an EOS and it works great. Canon also makes additional adapters for EF lease on the EOS R cameras, one that adds a control dial and one that allows for drop-in filters.

Can I use this adapter on a Canon mark 5d iv to mount Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro ?
Asked by: karla
No. You are not able to adapt RF lenses to EF cameras due to the significant difference in flange focal distance. This adapter is for the reverse (EF lenses to RF cameras).

The EF Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art is loose when attached ...

The EF Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art is loose when attached to this adapter. There is some play when handling the lens while it is attached. Is this an isolated issue or is this an issue with all EF lenses when attached to this adapter?
Asked by: Tarik
The adapter was designed to mount the Canon EF lenses on it with a close tolerance so there would me no movement between the lens and the adapter. Each manufacturer will have a "different" tolerance than what the Canon tolerance will be and that could be the problem. You might try your other "third party EF mounts" and see if they have the same "looseness" as your Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art lens. If they are tight then it is the lens and not the EF-EOS R adapter.

Will the EF-EOS R mount adapters work with Canon 1.4x or 2x extenders, assuming the EF lens is compatible with the extender? (Seems like it would, but I can't find an official answer or someone who's tried it.)
