Simple and compact, the Speedlite EL-100 from Canon is a sleek strobe designed to give you more control, flexibility, and power than your camera's built-in flash. Offering a guide number of 85.3' at ISO 100 and 50mm, this flash also has a 90° tilting range, 330° rotating, and a similar spread to that of a 24mm to suit working in a variety of indoor and outdoor situations. The mode dial on the rear allows for easy group selection or it can also be set to AUTO to allow your camera to determine when flash is necessary. Also, for off-camera use, an optical receiver allows for triggering from up to 36' away. For creative applications, a stroboscopic mode can be used for unique effects during long exposures or second-curtain sync helps to emphasize moving subjects.

- Guide Number: 85.3' at ISO 100 and 50mm

Canon EL-100 Reviews
Light, powerful and small
I needed a light for macro photography and these is perfect. The power up time is fast.
Comes in pretty handy
Compact, lightweight and bright enough for limited spaces. Very glad I got this.
The best option for lightweight travel
I've owned most of the Canon Speedlight models over the years. Today this is the best option if you are looking for a small and light solution. it's also quite cost effective, although one of the off-brand models is going to give more bang for the buck (at much higher weight). The EL-100 omits the typical control interface and information display, but modern bodies are able to drive Speedlights through their UI so this is not a big deal considering the saved space and cost.
Works great
Easy to use works great
Perfect for Smaller Cameras
I have a Canon EOS RP. It is one of the smallest full frame cameras out there, and I wanted a smallish flash to complement it. The EL-100 is perfect. It's only slightly bigger than the compact Canon EX90, but has much more capability in a very small package.
Good for a beginner
The right speed light for someone who hasn't used one before.
I love this little flash!
I'm enamored with this thing. It works perfectly as a fill light for portraits. Additionally I can use it as a master for my other speed lites to use as bounce flashes, hair lights, etc. It is small and lightweight and does the job!
It has a purpose
The EL-100 is a pretty handy Speedlite. I do enjoy being able to use it as a master to control off camera strobes when I want to also use a small on camera flash instead of using something like the ST-E3-RT. The EL-100 is compact and very lightweight and works as advertised. It integrates seamlessly with my other Canon Speedlites. As an addition to other Speedlites it works very well. If I was looking just to have a single Speedlite, or even just a first Speedlite I think the 430 EX-iii RT would be a more capable choice.
