Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm T2.9 Overview

The Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm T2.9 Wide-Angle Zoom Lens (Nikon F Mount) features a super-wide field of view and cine-style design elements. It covers Super 35mm image sensors and is a parfocal lens, holding focus throughout zoom moves. Its durable metal housing withstands the rigors of cine production and incorporates 0.8 Mod lens gears for compatibility with FIZ (focus/iris/zoom) control systems.

Interchangeable EF, LPL, PL, Sony E, and MFT lens mounts are available separately for swapping with the Nikon F mount, expanding the lens's compatibility with additional cameras. The Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm incorporates low-distortion glass, and its 9-bladed iris produces attractive bokeh in out-of-focus areas. Focus (feet), iris, and zoom settings are marked on both sides of the lens barrel.

Additional cine features include a minimum focus distance of 12", 300° of focus rotation, and an industry-standard 95mm front diameter compatible with most pro-style matte boxes. An 86mm front thread provides a second filtration option especially useful for low-profile or lightweight rig configurations.

Note:
Lens mounts may be changed by the user but mounting by a lens service center is recommended to ensure accurate focus scales.

I am primarily going to be mounting this to a Fuji X-T4 if I get it. I have wondered if I should get the Canon EF mount and use the DZO adapter or get the Nikon mount and use my Fringer NF-FX mount? I plan on possibly picking up the new Catta lenses also but am finding the Pictor zooms for decent used prices to make it a "Trinity" setup.
Asked by: Ross
You should get it with the Nikon version of the Lens and use your Nikon NF-FX adapter. The DZO lenses are optimized specifically for DZO lenses.

Is vignetting apparent when using on the Red Komodo at the wider focal lengths?
Asked by: Adam
The 11-20mm has slightly less light fall off out towards the edges of frame and less vignette than the 11-16mm, especially when used at 11mm. Here is a link to a sharpness test for the Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm. https://vimeo.com/336503806

The mounts are sold separately. EF-mount: https://bhpho.to/3jKVKBu E-mount: https://bhpho.to/3kIsr3H While these kits will fit, they have specific models they recommend for best compatibility with the 11-20 and the 50-135. The filter thread is 86mm. Will there be any issues if I step that down to an 82m so I can use the VND's I already own?
Asked by: Skeeter
Using a step-down ring could cause vignetting when using the Tokina Cinema ATX 11-20mm T2.9 Wide-Angle Zoom Lens. We recommend using 86mm filters with this lens, or a matte-box solution.
