Angler Port-a-Cube Overview

The 27" Port-a-Cube LED Light Tent with Dimmer II from Angler is a portable lighting solution for small products, art objects, cataloging, record keeping, and ecommerce. Like a miniature studio, the Port-a-Cube folds flat when not in use and assembles quickly via touch fasteners at its edges. The interior is textured, reflective silver to evenly distribute the light from 156 daylight-balanced LEDs located at the top of the Cube.

A useful improvement over the previous model is a flap in the overhead diffusion material. The Cube's LEDs are arranged in a square around the opening for overhead lighting. Alternately, (and this is a perk of having a top diffusion flap) you can open the black top of the cube to reveal the diffuser, and light your subject from overhead with your own fixtures. Of course, there's a sizable opening in the front of the Cube for multiple shooting angles closer to ground level.

Anticipating your possible needs, Angler also includes black, white, and gray backgrounds for a low-key, high-key, or neutral look to best complement your subject, while a chroma-green background is provided for image makers who want to drop in their own custom background via their computer.

With its quick set up and breakdown and minimal space requirements, you may find yourself traveling with the Port-a-Cube, and Angler has you covered. The Cube is ready for worldwide use thanks to its universal 85 to 265 VAC power supply.

Natural Color
Port-a-Cube's 156 LEDs are daylight-balanced 5400K color temperature - ideal for shooting outdoors or in spaces dominated by windows.
Dimmable Power
You can adjust the light intensity to meet your requirements from 10 to 100% without filters or jockeying the light around.
Multiple Shooting Angles
Openings in the front and on top of the tent give unique perspectives and angles to show your product at its best.
Backgrounds
The Port-a-Cube ships with black, white, gray, and chroma-green backgrounds for high-key, low-key, neutral look, or to chroma-key your own background.
Built-In LED Panel
Inside is a built-in 156 LED fixture so there are no extra parts to assemble for your lighting needs.
Integrated Frame
The Port-a-Cube sets up and breaks down quickly thanks to its integrated frame and touch-fastener connections.
Shoot-Through Diffuser
An included diffuser quickly attaches to the roof of the Port-a-Cube. But how do you shoot through it? The diffuser's pull-back shooting window makes it easy to get evenly spread light and an unobstructed top-down view.

What's the largest object you can effectively shoot with this item?
Asked by: Greg
It varies depending on several factors. Too large of an item might make the sides of the backdrop more visible. Depending on your lens and shooting orientation, I would say about approximately half the width of the tent would make an appropriate subject size.

can I buy new backdrops for this I lost a few of the colors ?
Asked by: Chaim
I found some vinyl at a fabric store and some small backdrops online that I cut to fit and used Velcro tabs to put them up with. I use mine a lot, so I like to change out the backgrounds when they get damaged or scuffed. Hope this helps.

I'd like to photograph an item that is longer than the tent. Would it be possible to slip it under the front and leave a portion outside the tent. Or is it possible to open the entire front of the tent?
Asked by: John
If you did that then the lighting would be different for part of the item and probably look like a weird shadow or something.

How do I get rid of the reflection of the LED in certain items? I seems the answer is to own the top but the. You require your own lighting. Is this correct? Also, is the diffuser always supposed to be installed or just for certain shots? Thanks!
Asked by: Alex
Boxes like these are designed for simple shots and mostly non reflective items. If you have a highly reflective item its best to get a more traditional light kit for more control.
