An especially sleek portrait-length prime, the 56mm f/1.4 DC DN is part of Sigma's Contemporary series of lenses, and is designed for use with APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. The lens is characterized by its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, which suits working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers improved control over depth of field for isolating subjects and working with selective focus techniques. The optical design utilizes two aspherical elements and one SLD element, which help to reduce both spherical and chromatic aberrations for greater sharpness and clarity. A super multilayer coating has also been applied to suppress flare and ghosting in order to achieve more contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping AF motor, which suits both photo and video applications due to its quick, precise, and near-silent performance.

Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Reviews
El mejor para retrato
Muchas veces e querido este lente x ser muy luminoso, es nítido y m gusta mucho x se desenfoque sedoso
Perfect for my Nikon DX system
Also see my review of the Sigma 16mm 1.4 lens for my Nikon DX system (Z50), which I purchased before this lens. I fell in love with the Sigma 16mm 1.4 lens so much I decided to try this 56mm 1.4 for mainly portrait/indoor and some street use as well. After over 30 years of photography with DSLR/Mirrorless systems (both APSC formats) I have never had such a great portrait focal length lens! The focus is spot on and the images are unbelievably sharp. The ease of obtaining great Bokah blows me away. I love the handling of these Sigma lenses and the crisp clean look of the lens as well. For a portrait length focal range (roughly 84mm on FX), this lens is small and relatively light, especially for how fast it is. Between this lens and my Sigma 16mm, I now have the 2 best primes I've ever owned. Maybe the 30mm in my future?
