Took me a long time to decide to spend my sons inheritance on this lens , glad I did , it's heavy incredibly well build and as sharp as a lens can be . What a pleasure Tom work with . Tripod recommended

This is the only telephoto from the XCD lineup and it's a great one. Images are sharp to the corners and still have high contrast when shooting toward the sun. It becomes pretty vignette-free stopping down from f/5.6, and the converter doesn't affect sharpness in my eyes, giving you two long teles in one. I can use the same filters as my 21mm and 25-75mm, but one thing I can't use is the collar. If you plan to use the collar, know that it's incompatible with Arca Swiss. You'll need a separate plate to do that. It's something I wish Hasselblad added, as it's yet another piece I have to research to see what to get and lug around steep mountain trails. It's the only thing negative about the entire package, but the lens, itself, is top notch.

Excellent, as expected

The build quality on this lens is amazing, but then again, its a Hasselblad, so no surprise. It is tack sharp wide open and the colour rendition is superb. I purchased it with the 1.7x converter, which essentially gives you a second lens for far less than you would pay for a Hasselblad. I recommend using it on a tripod, as hand held it tends to hunt for focus quite a bit. You can do it, but it is a challenge. This lens would be great for portraiture and for nature still life photos. If you can place yourself in a stable location and then choose the area you want to focus on as opposed to seeing and then focusing, you can expand it's usage greatly. Medium focus isn't for everyone; it tends to make you slow down and think about your shot rather than just point and hold the shutter release down and hope.

very quiet shutter, very sharp image

Even with adapter attached, I find the handling of the lens comfortable! Best results achieved with tripod, but handheld at the right condition still good! Super happy with this product!

Great way to extend the telephoto options

I added the x Converter 1.7x when I ordered the XCD 135 to get a maximum telephoto option. It did take a little reading to make sure I had the converter and lens installed correctly. With the 1.7 converter, it is more difficult to use the camera system as a pure hand held option. I have been impressed with the quality and level of shutter noise with the 135mm lens. The clarity of the images produced is amazing.

Amazing lens quality.

This lens produces astonishing image quality, whether it is used alone, or with the dedicated 1.7x converter.

Smooth, reliable, and the converter is the sharpest yet

Keeping in mind, I use this mostly action work - this lens has been my absolute go-to in every situation. In fact, if I could only have one lens on my x1D system, I would choose this without hesitation. From portraits to action and even landscapes, this lens always delivers.

Due to the optical element of the X Converter 1.7x protruding into the lens, the X Converter currently is only compatible with the XCD 135mm f/2.8 lens.
