The Thunderbolt 3 10 Gb/s Ethernet Adapter from Other World Computing lets you connect your Thunderbolt 3-equipped Mac or Windows PC to a wired 10GBASE-T Ethernet network. This bus-powered Ethernet adapter comes with a captive 19.6" Thunderbolt 3 cable, as well as an embedded RJ45 Ethernet port. The attached cable is replaceable. Compatible with legacy Ethernet standards, the Thunderbolt 3 10 Gb/s Ethernet Adapter is ideal for pro video users who require frame-accurate access.

Compatible with Mac and Windows
The adapter works with systems running macOS 10.13.4 or later and Windows 10 64-bit (v1709) or later. A driver is required when using the adapter on a Windows system.

Is the OWC Thunderbolt 3 10 GB/s Ethermnet Adapter the same thing as the Sonnet Solo 10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition with different labeling?

Both manufactures make their own adapter to connect from a Thunderbolt 3 port, to a 10 Gigabit connection.

Does this work with Mac OS v11 (Big Sur)? I have the Mac Mini 9,1 and a similar adapter by Akitio (now owned by OWC) and it is not working. OWC Lists it as compatible with the Mac Mini, but not with Big Sur. Please help!

If you look at the tech specs, you'll see that the Sonnet Solo10G device about one-half of OWC's device and is smaller dimensionally: 3 x 1 x 4.5 in. versus 3 x 1.5 x 5 in. OWC does give you a rubber sleeve for protection from bumps. They use the identical controller: AQC-107S. It's not an easy choice. Cheers Chris

The latest Mac Studio models already include a 10 Gb/s Ethernet port, so the OWC Thunderbolt 3 10 Gb/s Ethernet Adapter would not be necessary.

The OWC Thunderbolt 3 10 Gb/s Ethernet Adapter BH #OWTB3ADP10GE is a Ethernet adapter for a computer. Internet speed is not part of the equation. You would need a router/switch and a NAS both capable of 10Gb speeds.
