great idea, but I wish they had more effort into making sure it works. the vuze vr studio software doesn't even run on my Mac mini M1. the product has so much potential, but sad to say it's just a disappointment.

Still the best VR180 camera for consumers

This is one of many VR180/hybrid cameras I own (including the QooCam, the Insta360 EVO, a Lucid one, and others). For 360, there are better options (I think the Insta360 One X is the best one overall), but for VR180, this is my go-to. The EVO is close, but it's awkward to use and, for me, the captured audio isn't as good. Yes, this has some connectivity issues. Granted. It's usually not an issue, but it can be. However, for VR180, I've learned that you very much want to use a tripod - movement does *not* go over well. As such, this has very easy, visible, manual controls for switching between photo and video mode and for starting and stopping recording, Pretty brainless. You can also record while charging over USB C, which is good because battery life is not great - maybe 30-45 minutes max. The recordings are phenomenal in this price range, both in terms of the visual as well as the audio. Again, this is 5K VR180, so it won't be completely crisp, but it'll be passable, and the recorded audio is extremely good. I've used this at Walt Disney World with great results. You can probably find VR180 ambient videos I shot on YouTube; you can certainly find videos others shot with a Vuze to see for yourself. Note that YouYube's fidelity is improving, but it's still not as good as the original video. But... use it to see and hear for yourself (use Cardboard/Oculus/other goggles for best results). I also recorded some time with my father before he passed, and the VR180 aspect - when using an Oculus Quest or similar to view it - makes it feel so much more like I'm there with him than any 2D video. Those short recordings alone justified the cost of this to me.

So, check this out. I own two other less pricey 360 cameras. They work relatively well. Although, the quality isnt quite as good as I want it to be, they still work. By work I mean do not disconnect when streaming or even before you start recording. The Vuze sucks for continually disconnecting on its own without any interference. I can say that much right off of the bat. It disconnects automatically and it takes time for it to think about reconnecting. That being said. If this technology has that problem before we can even get into the brass tacks of general user functionality, I will tell all of you to pass on this product. When, we. The consumer, purchase products we expect the bare necessities of at least connectivity without any interruptions or problems. And, from what I can tell, the firmware that is available right now as of April 2, 2019. This problem still hasnt been resolved. Why? If that is the case. Im cautioning all of you consumers like myself. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Run the other way. Dont get suckered into a flashy pop 3D camera and its psuedo versatility. If its really as versatile as it looks. It should at least be capable of connecting to your devices. And thats the rest of the story.

Pro Videographer / 180 VR is the New Frontier

180 VR video-making has quickly become my favorite way to capture life. With a portable VR tripod, you just set it up and walk away. Finally Im able to get in the shot, too. Much more compelling way to capture life than a typical camera rig that you operate. The VUZE XR is the camera to get right now. No complaints at all about this product. Auto capture does a great job in most scenarios. Not the best low light performer, however. No complaints at all about this product.

Great for VR 180 3D videos

A great camera to explore making VR 180 3D videos. The Facebook group for this camera is very supportive and I have been able to resolve all my questions through the Facebook group. The camera takes some getting used to, but I have practiced using it a lot now, and find that once you get to know the quirks, it is quite good to use.

Not mature yet but promizing

Well, it does what it is advertised, but at 4K 60FPS is way too low for the Oculus, clips seems to be completely out of focus, blurred, at the point that it is not usable for VR, at 5,7k 30FPS, the clips are much sharper, but way too jerky. So basicaly not really usable for VR.

A full VR studio in hand

I love the versatile of this product. The quick video/upload to your iPhone or computer is amazing. Two things that I have notice; one, the 4K 60/120 resolution doesn’t let you live view as you record (unless there is a setting, I’m not aware about.) but it does in 5k 60. 2. As any device that uses wifi; makes sure the signal is strong, or you will experience lag.

Hi Heinrich, The Vuze XR can live stream continuously for 30 minutes as the battery lasts for about an hour. If you find yourself in need for more time you can always plug in a power bank and continue using the camera. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you need anything else. No it will not. The footage that you get from this camera is 3D but there is no support for playing back this footage on televisions at this time. You will need to use a VR headset to view 3D footage from this camera.
