Useful and functional by itself, the Viola² shines brightest when used in conjunction with the free mobile device app, the Conductor, which allows you to individually control or link together multiple units. With the app, you can adjust the output of the light to match output, CCT, color, saturation, filters, and effects. The app also allows you to sample the color and brightness from a video image, such as a campfire, on your mobile device and have that sample control the brightness and color output of the light. The fixture powers from 7 to 15 VDC via a 2.1mm power port or by the included battery. Mounting is via the built-in 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole.

Luxli Viola M2 Reviews
Updated review — great customer service from Luxli and B&H
I took almost two years after purchase to write a negative review (“Great concept, manufacturing issues” on March 29, 2026), of the accessories included in the bundle of the two Viola lights I purchased . I have always been happy with the lights themselves, and with the softboxes, so much so that I subsequently purchased a Luxli Cello, with which I am also enamored. In my initial review I complained about two things: the quality of the ballheads, which did not adequately support the weight of the lights, and the no-name batteries which lasted for an astonishingly short period of time and drained between uses. Someone at B&H read my review and asked for my permission to contact customer service from Luxli on my behalf. I said yes and promptly received an offer to replace the ball heads and upgrade the batteries. The replacement and upgrades work as expected and have changed my experience using the Violas from frustrating to enjoyable. This review would have been updated in about two weeks of the original one had I not been traveling often and unexpectedly in the past six weeks. First, I was astounded that B&H offered to put me in contact with Luxli’s customer service team, when I’d made the purchase almost exactly two years ago. Secondly, Luxli promptly and most graciously offered to make it right. I’ve been using B&H for years, so I’ve always been happy with them. I cannot thank Luxli enough for caring about their products and customer experience to replace accessories with which I was dissatisfied. Many thanks to B&H and Luxli. I have three different models of their lights, all purchased from B&H, and I would purchase each of them again.
Very helpful and easy to use.
I found the Luxli Viola2 to be very effective and easy to use. The light is diffused adequately for a variety of photographic needs and the Kelvin color temperature is easily adjusted as is light intensity. Once mounted, the light feels quite solid and “one with the camera.” I used it for close up photography and was quite pleased. See attached image.
