The four-section aluminum legs have flip locks that open so you can extend them along with the rapid center column to a maximum height of 62.5". To get to the minimum height of 16.5", the legs splay completely out, and they have three variable angles with independent leg spread to adjust when shooting on uneven terrain. The tripod's center column is reversible to get closer to the ground. The legs fold in the reverse to a compact 18.2" to be compact for travel, and rubber feet prevent the tripod from sliding on smooth surfaces.

Magnus TR-13 Tripod with Ball Head Reviews

Does its job for a darn-good price

I just needed a tripod for generic use, nothing too crazy. This makes me feel like I can use it in rugged situations if i wanted to, and the price is pretty great for what it is. No complaints.

Portable !

This had flown with me many times on trips now, it also fits in my big backpack. It's pretty stable and Light. I will say the plastic ball head and non-adjustable clamps give me some worry about the future but it holds my camera and lens just fine ( 5lb ).

I travel alot for work, so having a tripod I can throw in my luggage is very nice. My camera with the cage and big lens is just about 5lbs. It seems to hold it well, pretty stable and with a bag holder on the bottom I could throw some rocks in there. I will say that the ball head does feel a little flimsy but for costing less then the head on my monopod I can't really complain, just hope it holds up for a few years !

Travel Tripod?

This tripod so far has been great. Feels quality, easy to use, and lightweight. I'm pretty tall so I was concerned about the height but it really is to my satisfaction. Sure it's sold as a travel tripod but this thing is my go-to. BH has been amazing, I recently spent good money with them. All of my packages have been secure and in perfect condition upon arrival.

Took this to Yosemite! Was perfect! Lightweight, nice little padding on one leg and can got me low to the ground when I needed it to. Used with a Mamiya medium format film camera.

This was a quick purchase for a trip, its pretty light, small and sturdy. Im hoping it holds up well but the non-adjustable latches and plastic shoe mount give me a little worry about long term. However It seems to work well now ! Holds my current rig ( just under 5lbs ), would not trust it with much more.

I would like to adjust the pan scale to have either 0 or 180 aligned with the front leg of the tripod, but I have not been able to lock it in place in that position. Has anybody figured out a way to do this?
Asked by: Eric
Thanks for both answers. I had also pretty much come to the conclusion that while you can rotate the scale, you can't really lock it precisely in a specific position. Oh well, it's still useful as a reference, and at the price it's hard to complain. Great little tripod!

Is this tripod quick release plate compatible with a Cambio Field Camera? Not sure if different models require different heads?
Asked by: hailey
Yes, the ball head on the TR-13 comes with a Quick Release Plate with a standard ¼-20” thread. The Field camera may have a 3/8-16” female thread, in this case a reducer busing can be used.

Asked by: Claudia
Yes. The only time I had problems with giggle was when it was fairly windy. I think it was 30+mph. I bought it for a trip to Scotland, it preformed well (except for the wind). Now it's in my car, just in case. :)
