    Huawei MediaPad Reviews

    8.4- Mediapad M5 64GB Tablet (Wi-Fi Only, Space Gray) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best 8.4 inch tablet period I had the previous generation, the M3 and I broke the screen, so I bought this as a replacement. The M3 was an excellent tablet so I didnt hesitate to buy the M5. The screen is beautiful, pixel dense and bright. The 960 processor is very snappy and web pages load very quickly which is important to me. The speakers are loud and clear and probably best in class. The addition of USB C is welcome and the tablet charges quickly. My only complaint is the power and volume buttons, they are well made but the shape of the new body places them lower and hard to reach. The tablet is a bit slippery so I have a case on it. Very happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best  8 inch Tablet ever very happy with Huawei 8.4 M5 Tablet from B $ H USA. Hard to get in Australia and be wary of Chinese (no Google service ROM) I have  4 ipads, 2 samsung and a couple of cheap tablets. The acid test for a tablet is browser speed. This M5  using G Chrome browser,  is equal to my current Mac desktop and even beats my ipads. Cheap tablets are hopeless! I prefer the android and this small size is very handy.  Dont know if Huawei will provide software updates or not , but dont really care. All the specs are as per on the box and the screen is very good.  The battery endurance seems excellent, particularly on standby.  I would recommend this  tablet completely and is at  a good price. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I picked this one I spent weeks researching the top 10 8 tablets.  I was replacing my ipad mini 4 after it stopped working only a year old and decided to try an android.  I almost settled on Samsung for name brand but the specs on this one convinced me.  I am not disappointed.  the screen is brilliant.  I always max the brightness on my screens but on this one I dont have to.  terrific sound.  width is perfect for one handed holding.  extra .4 screen makes the widescreen better.  the supposedly heavy eui doesnt bother me at all.  and it comes with a usb to 3.5 headphone adapter so not sure what the big deal is about that missing is.  button locations are ok with me.  still to early on a battery assessment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tablet This is one of the few 8 inch tablets that actually have the specs to meet my needs.  This replaced a recently deceased Samsung Galaxy S2.  I did not want to pay hundreds for the more updated version when the size was not what I wanted.  Not everyone wants a 10 inch tablet.  I have a laptop for that.  I wanted something with power and performance that I could slip in my purse and go. Its easy to hold and surf the web.  The sound is great and the graphics are superb.  This is my first Huawei and I couldnt be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - Movies and YouTube Already have a Huawei phone so new what to expect which is great value and much better deal then the similar priced competition. In fact a Samsung Apple slayer. You cant buy another tablet with the same build quality, excellent display and great sound at this price point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like it so far, but with a couple of peeves Ive had it only a week, but generally am happy with it so far.  It has some bloatware (certainly compared to the two Nexus tablets Ive owned), but its not too bad.  Sound seems decent and display is nice. I cant quite give it five stars, however, largely because I have no idea how it will hold up and perform, but also because of two pet peeves:  (1) as noted by others, the back of the tablet is super sleek, which makes a case almost mandatory if one is going to use it in any environment other than in a kingsize bed, and (2) the design choice not to have a 3.5mm jack means many people (like me) will end up having to buy a dongle with a splitter so that one can use earphones while charging the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Pilot's Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) I wanted an Android 8 tablet with USB-C, fast charge & good battery life, plenty of storage space and a bright enough screen to see in a small airplane. I added a 400Gb memory card and this works perfectly. I took it on 3 two hour flights before needing to recharge it. For anyone worried about the USB-C, it's what USB should have been to begin with: universal. I won't buy anything now that isn't USB-C. I also didn't want an iOS product.

Is anyone using Lightroom CC with RAW files on this? How's your experience?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Lightroom CC supports all formats of RAW files. The experience editing these types of files in the application is the same as any other type of color correction on any other type of file. Lightroom CC does support color profiles , so the quality can potentially be outstanding if used and configured properly.

I read that the plug for earbuds works through the USB port. Could someone explain that? Or is there no way to connect earbuds at all?
    Asked by: Barbara
The tablet comes with a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Unfortunately, there is no single standard for USB-C to 3.5mm adapters, so if you need a replacement you'll need to look for one that works specifically with this model (and most current-generation Huawei phones and tablets) as opposed to a generic one.
