Slik CF-634 Reviews

Lightness comes with a compromise

On the plus side, build quality is good and it is very light for its length. However, when fully extended (I'm tall), we can't expect outstanding stability. By using a 3s pre-delay, long exposures were ok with up to 70mm lens. But it is wobbly with longer lenses, or in windy conditions. Tested with a 600g full-frame mirrorless.

So lightweight and workable

Everything works as expected. Easy to operate. Tripod legs operate smoothly and easily. Sturdy as long as you don't exceed the weight specifications. I'm sure in windy conditions the weight hook will be a necessity to make it sturdy and not top heavy. Very easy to carry on hikes. Will fit in my carry-on suitcase if I remove the ballhead (not included and not a problem to just unscrew it), which is the reason I didn't buy the 3 section-- too tall. Nice looking product.

Excellent value in a tripod

Been using this for over a year now. I am very pleased with it's performance. I shoot M4/3 and this tripod has held my equipment sturdy & well. It likely wouldn't support a big full frame + telephoto set up, but for my Panasonic G9, this has been perfect. Coupled with a ballhead purchased elsewhere I have had few complaints. My biggest would be the legs aren't always the smoothest operation...but for the money it's no big deal. Plus I could probably be better about cleaning. If you need a lighter set of legs for backpacking, etc. These are great.

Would this be a good option for holding a Canon 5D Mark IV with a 70-200mm lens attached? Based on the max weight of this tripod, that combination should work well correct?

After the legs are extended and it is setup, do the legs stay open when you lift it off the ground or do they fall closed?
Asked by: Matt
The legs on the Slik Pro CF-634 Tripod stay extended as long as the leg locks are engaged.
