Best well kept secret.....

Im hesitant to mention how great this field monitor is for fear of a price hike. We have used many other huge name brands that cost 3+ times more than these and none come close to the nits this tool outputs. In my older age my eyesight is dimming but this monitor in full sun with no shade screen can be seen clear as day. it is a must but please don't buy them all. this is the second one we've bought and we don't even use our other much more expensive brands.

Purchased to use with Flight Sim to display maps, it works perfectly and fits into the cockpit as planned.

The monitor works as expected and is perfect as a field monitor. The button system is a bit dated, but once you know them, it doesn't really take away from the monitors performance.

Excellent outdoor monitor!

I've bought several FeelWorld 7 monitors, which I use for indoor video projects, but they are useless for outdoor monitoring. I bought this on a flash sale, and I immediately saw the difference. If you do a lot of outdoor video work, this monitor is a tool to use.

Good features at a great price

Overall, this monitor ticks many boxes: lightweight for its size, 4K image, ultra bright, HDMI and SDI in AND out, and a very reasonable price to top it off. These are all great, useful features. The one glaring issue I found is poor image latitude, especially in the highlights. Many times, highlights that seem completely washed out and lack any details on the FeelWorld monitor (like white curtains and bright outdoors background), look perfectly fine with excellent detail and separation on a more expensive, higher end monitor. So if you're operating off the FeelWorld monitor this lack of accuracy can really throw you off. I would say use this monitor for framing and focus but don't count on it for lighting and exposure.

Great for the $$$

Bought this specifically to use on my Canon C70 for outdoor shooting. It offers a good, clean image but the main benefit is the brightness. I can clearly see this in direct sunlight. Note, no AC adapter or cable. It will take batteries but to save weight, I grabbed a D-Tap to power from the camera battery. Also, its bright so when using indoors, you have to be mindful the image is not nearly as bright as proper exposure. So far, so good.

The flip out monitor on my JVC HC-GY550 was was useless in the bright ambient light of a ski race. The FeelWooeld Ultra-Bright solved my problem. Love it.

More than I expected. Much better than the one I was using (which wasn't bad).

Is this bright enough to operate outside without a sunshade, since it doesn't appear to come with one?
Asked by: Dan
Absolutely, yes -- use in direct sunlight is one of the main reasons to purchase this particular monitor. I've used my FY279 almost exclusively outdoors in daylight for 2+ years without need for a sunshade.

I will be using this monitor an my Nikon D850 and D810 for still photography. My eyes are not as good as they used to be so hopefully a monitor will help me manual focus precisely. Will the screen on the monitor match exactly what I see on the camera?
Asked by: Hart
This will be a great tool to help you focus. The colors may not be an exact match, but it is still a great option for better focus.

Hi Jeremy, I use it with the Blackmagic 6K in the field, I believe the 6K is a 10bit raw signal and it works fine. Perhaps you don't get to see a true 10 bit signal.

I have used 2 others. I got this specific one because i work outdoors a lot and hate sunshades. If you don't want touchscreen, this is the best option. They also sell it in aluminum body instead of plastic, but a bit heavier.

This monitor does not offer HDMI to SDI Cross Conversion. The Lilliput Q5 5.5" Full HD On-Camera Monitor, B&H # LIQ5FHDMNTR, is our starting option for an On-Camera monitor with SDI/HDMI Cross Conversion. https://bhpho.to/2qtn7q6

what is its battery life with a sony npf970?
Asked by: Byron
I run the monitor at around 50% most of the time, even outdoors. 2 batteries get me thru a full day's shoot. 10-12 hours. I sometimes use it as an on camera light at max power (white screen not running video) and it will last just under 3 hours. These times are assuming you turn off the monitor between scenes, when not recording or playback review. But I'm also not the type to leave cameras on. Responsible use, real world usage, i feel gives better info than just "it will last 2 hours on max" because i haven't worked with anyone that leaves gear running while not in use, and for long stationary shoots like interviews, i run AC power for it. Most shoots I'm running focus peaking on it and audio monitor so i don't use those features on the camera, saving processing power & battery on the camera. I don't typically use hdmi passthrough and my camera outputs 1080p uncompressed 4:2:2 8 bit (with info) when recording and 10 bit clean hdmi out when i review footage.
