Fantastic!

These didn't take too long to arrive (to the other side of the world). The fit is true to size for the measurements. AND, they were fantastic on their first outing of winter sports photography in below freezing temperatures.

Functional w/flaws

The gloves are not warm in below freezing weather, but are certainly better than no gloves at all. The space where your fingers poke through lets in cold air and have frozen my fingers (even when closed). The metal plate on the back has scratched my face several times when wiping a runny nose from the cold air here in central Oregon. The magnet is not strong but it doesn't matter too much if they are not used as the tip tucks behind your finger tip and stays put regardless. I spent enough on these that I'm not inclined to replace them so I'm working around the flaws as best I can.

Great medium weight gloves

I have used these gloves almost every day since getting them a week ago. It's been very cold (temperatures between 10-20 degrees), and these gloves are not quite warm enough for that kind of cold, but otherwise they are very nice. Extremely gripping fingers and palms, and the flip-back thumbs and index fingers make tasks requiring fine dexterity a breeze. Highly recommended.

Keeping fingertips warm is an enigma

They are comfortable and you can easily manipulate gear (cameras, drone controller, etc) when wearing the gloves. Well constructed. I have yet to find a glove or glove size that keep my fingertips warm. The next combination for me will be a glove liner with the Vallerrets. Warmer pockets are useless to me, and I've tried every warmer out there from standard Grabbers to sodium acetate reusable warmers.

So Good My Wife Ordered A Pair for Herself

Gloves that are supposed to work with touch screens suck. This is way better, keep my hands way warmer, and can even unlock my phone with my finger print.

Gaps don't completely seal, but convenient

The hole that exposes your thumb & index finger does not close completely and form a seal when shut, so cold air/rain/snow can get in. Otherwise it's nice.

Great in moderately cold conditions

I've always had a problem with taking gloves off, then back on, then off, etc. while out photographing nature during the winter. I gave these a try based on reviews and the clever implementation of the flip-off finger tips. These worked very well for me. I saw some reviews that claim the finger tips don't close tight enough when on, but I didn't have that problem. In weather in the mid 20 degrees F, they were fine. My hands stayed warm. Below that, they're a bit too thin, but that's something I expected. I haven't tried inserting a hand warmer, but that looks like a good idea for when it's really cold. Bottom line: These have made winter nature photography much more comfortable for me, and it is much faster to flip off the finger tip than take off gloves.

Functional

I haven't gotten to use these in the cold yet (unfortunately we had an unprecedented snow and ice storm with sub-zero temps for a week straight but I didn't have these gloves delivered yet), but they fit pretty snug and give a good grip on the camera as well as the ability to use all camera functions easily with the pull back magnetized thumbs and forefinger tips. It would be nice if the magnet was a little stronger but it seems to hold once it is set. The zipper pocket is nice to keep extra memory cards in or money or whatever. I wish the Vallerret nameplate wasn't there or that it was embroidered in or something other than a metal-like plate that I think will catch on things and rip off eventually. Satisfied overall.

How do these compare to the Women's Nordic Photography gloves? Which would be warmer? What about sizing?
Asked by: Rhea
The womens Nordic Gloves are going to be water resistant and have a Merino wool liner so they would be the better choice to go with in the cold. Sizing wise it is roughly the same.
