poor quality, 106 doesn't fit
Pretty disappointing. The grid arrived damaged, and the small reflector in the middle of the dish has a couple issues- the threaded rods that hold it up don't have any faceting that would allow you to grip them as you install them (and just finger-tightening them doesn't work, so i had to use a pair of pliers, which chewed them up), the threaded portion is longer that will fit on the interior side, making it more wobbly (and if you screw it in all the way, it projects out the back and interferes with installation of the ring to attach to the head), one of the threaded openings was poorly milled and really hard to screw into, and the interior side of the central disc (where being white and reflective is more important) is less fully painted than the forward-facing side. Also, it isn't compatible with the Blackline 106 head, which is too large to fit.
Works great with my Gemini 400, good quality, glad this product is offered!
I'd avoid this if you value your time. It arrived damaged and with a manufacturing defect, and I still haven't received a refund. Because it's drop shipped, it's not as easy as just dealing with b&h directly. I eventually got a return shipping label and was told I'd get my refund within a month, which is kind of ridiculous. As for the product, the grid was badly damaged. But aside from that, the clips that hold the grid in place seem like they'll wear out quickly. The dish itself was impossible to assemble correctly, since the holes for mounting the deflector plate were drilled incorrectly. Hard to describe, but it's not just a matter of redrilling the holes, it was basically useless. Can't comment on the quality of light since I couldn't assemble it properly.
