Manfrotto 190go! Carbon Fiber M-Series Tripod

An especially compact yet versatile tripod, the 190go! Carbon Fiber M-Series Tripod from Manfrotto has a maximum height of 57.9" with the center column fully extended, yet its four-section legs afford a folded length of just 17.7". Its lightweight carbon fiber construction weighs 3 lb and can support over 33.1 lb of gear.

Enabling fast setup and take-down, as well as a streamlined profile, the M-Lock System twist locks are used and require just a single 90° rotation movement to swiftly deploy the individual leg sections. The 190go! is also characterized by its center column that can be positioned at a 90° angle, parallel to the ground, for working from a minimum height of just 3.5". The independent leg sections, with four set leg positions, benefit working on uneven grounds and the carbon fiber tubing is both lightweight and rigid for high stability. Additionally, an Easy Link attachment in the top casing extends the versatility of the tripod and allows for attaching an LED light, reflector, or other accessories without the need for an additional stand or rig.

question

Would this Tripod be good for a Nikon D810 with different lenses and a SB-910 flash? If not what would be a good suggestion I heard a Wooden Tripod would be good?
Asked by: Anonymous
While you do not list the heaviest lens you will be using with the above setup, the Manfrotto 190go! Aluminum Tripod with XPRO Geared 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head Kit has a maximum load capacity of 8.8 lbs. Using the popular Nikon 70-200mm lens, the Nikon D810, Nikon SB-910, and the Nikon 70-200mm lens together has a load capacity of 5.18 lbs, and would be compatible with the above tripod setup. I would recommend adding the weight of your camera setup with your heaviest lens, and it if it is under 8.8 lbs, it would be compatible with the above tripod/head kit.

question

How does this compare to the Befree model? Is this going to have a more sturdy feel compare to other travel tripod?
Asked by: Chengcheng
I'm not familiar with th BeFree model but I would consider this very sturdy. I was surprised that a four-section tripod could be as rigid as it is.

question

Is the maximum height of this tripod with the center column fully extended 57.9 , or is that measurement just for the legs? If just for the legs fully extended, how much height does the center column add?
Asked by: Kaveh A.
The height of this tripod with the center column retracted is 48 1/4 , with the center column fully extended the height is 58 . I made these measurements with the legs fully extended in the first stop position since the angle of the legs can be locked further apart reducing the height of course. I measured from the surface that you attach a ball head to, that is to say without a ball head attached, to the floor with a standard tape measure. So to get a true height you would have to add the height gain your ball head provides plus the distance from the tripod mount to the center of your camera's lens to get a true overall height. I hope this answers your question, sorry for the delay.

question

I've attached the 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base to this tripod but now want to take it off for travel. How do I do that? It doesn't unscrew at the place I screwed it on.
Asked by: Michael M.
I tried to answer earlier but something went wrong, I hope there is not a duplication. Yes you can separate the head, follow the mounting procedure in reverse order, also yes there is a screw involved. Better if you get he right pack and travel with the complete tripod/head set. It has a very convenient size for serious service.
