Comprising the essentials needed to begin shooting, the Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Digital Camera with Accessory Kit from B&H bundles the ultra long-zoom digital camera with a memory card and a protective camera bag.

Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Digital Camera

Shoot at staggering distances with the 125x optical zoom COOLPIX P1000 Digital Camera from Nikon. This camera, which has a 16MP backside illuminated CMOS sensor, features a built-in NIKKOR lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 24-3000mm. You can zoom even further with 250x Dynamic Fine digital zoom, which will give you an equivalent focal length of 6000mm. Coupled with these extreme focal lengths is Nikon's Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction, which provides 5 stops of optical image stabilization and ensures your telephoto shots are crisp.

Gracing the back of the camera are a 3.2" vari-angle, 921k-dot LCD monitor and an eye-level 2.36m-dot electronic viewfinder, so your subjects will always be easy to see. The camera is also capable of recording 4K UHD video at 30 or 25 fps and supports an external microphone via a 3.5mm connector.

Camera shake may be a concern while shooting at extreme focal lengths on a tripod. Or, you may need to otherwise remotely operate the P1000. The optional ML-L7 remote satisfies these needs with wireless operation off the camera's zoom, shutter, and other settings. Once you're done with a shoot, immediately access your photos on a paired smartphone via the Nikon SnapBridge app and the camera's built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

16MP BSI CMOS Image Sensor

The backside-illuminated sensor with 16 million effective pixels can output detailed images at sensitivities between ISO 100 and 6400. It can also create 4K UHD movies at 30 or 25 fps.

125x Optical Zoom with Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction

An absurd 24-3000mm (35mm equivalent) focal range means few, if any, objects are out of the reach of your lens. Zoom is further enhanced by Dynamic Fine digital zoom, which makes the maximum focal length a ridiculous 6000mm. Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction provides 5 stops of optical image stabilization so your handheld shots are crisp.

Dual Viewing Systems

The P1000 features a bright vari-angle 3.2" LCD display that makes composing and reviewing images and movies a breeze. Also available is the 0.39", 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder for a more traditional shooting style.

Control Ring and Snapback Button

A control ring at the front of the device can be used for a variety of functions, like adjusting focus, exposure, white balance, and ISO, all from the lens barrel. Also on the barrel is a zoom toggle and a dedicated Snapback button that will make your P1000 quickly zoom out in case you lose sight of your subject at long focal lengths. Releasing the button will return the focal length to its previous position.

Built-In Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Nikon's SnapBridge technology allows for seamless photo sharing directly from your camera to a paired smartphone device.

Shooting Modes

The P1000 features a slew of shooting modes that adjust settings for different scenarios like sunsets, fireworks, and portraits. The popular Moon Mode is great for shooting Earth's closest neighbor and the new Bird Mode optimizes the camera for capturing the often bright and colorful creatures.

Optional ML-L7 Remote

The ML-L7 remote (not included) can wirelessly adjust a variety of setting such as ISO, zoom, and aperture, in addition to triggering the shutter of the P1000. This lets you maintain precise composition while shooting from a tripod.

Battery Life

The EN-EL20a battery is rated for 250 shots per charge. Recharging takes only approximately 3 hours.

SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory Card

Designed for SD devices that can capture Full HD, 3D, and 4K video, as well as raw and burst photography, the 64GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory Card from SanDisk has a capacity of 64GB, is compatible with the UHS-I bus, and features a speed class rating of V30, which guarantees minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support the V30 standard, this card also supports the U3 standard, which likewise guarantees minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. Read speeds are supported up to 170 MB/s and write speeds max out at 90 MB/s. A built-in write-protect switch helps to safeguard against the accidental erasure of card data.

While this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-I / V30 / U3 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-I / V30 / U3. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-I and U1, which supports minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s, or Class 10, which also supports minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

As with most SanDisk cards, this memory card is shockproof, X-ray proof, waterproof, while also being able to withstand temperatures from -13 to 185°F, allowing you to take this card with you into extreme environments, such as snow, deserts, and pools. Should the card's data become compromised, you also benefit from the option to download RescuePRO Deluxe software as well as a limited lifetime warranty.

Which has the best noise settings feature for a bridge camera the Nikon Cool Pix 1000 or the Sony RX10M4?
Asked by: Dennis
The P1000 camera has a 1/23" sensor while the RX10 Mk IV has a 1" sensor, so on paper the RX10 Mk IV has far superior low-light sensitivity. However, this comes with a hit to lens focal length; the P1000 has a 24-3000mm lens and the RX10 Mk IV has a 24-600mm. Depending on your subject matter, each camera's mileage may vary.

Will Is the Really Right Stuff BP-CS camera plate (BH#REBPCSPLATE) compatible with the P1000?
Asked by: Owen
Sorry, I cannot answer your specific question. All answers are based upon action, mostly with birds in motion. While husband is driving it can be impressive, but I am only an enthusiast. I have added 1 flash mount with no problem & purchased from B&H. The other, I have not tried for macro. It is brand new from B&H. However, when on the road, on errands, in the "Birdiest City in the Nation" The P1000 is (P900 WAS) my go-to camera. If we are on the beach with my Nikon D500 (fav) entry level professional with Tamron 150-600 w 1/4 teleconverter lens (auto), nothing I have comes close to this, but is not quite so mobile. I have Tamron & Nikon lenses. I need more tripods. Two is not enough & I don't need all the lenses I have. B&H is where I have shopped & I was always very happy. Now, NOT sure I will give NYC the business unless Cuomo is gone.

I have a P900 that I hake on trips. I am considering selling the P900 and getting the P1000. I would not pay a nickel for the extra zoom as I don't think I have ever used the full zoom, but some of the reviews indicate there are other improvements beside the greater zoom capacity. Is it worth the money?
Asked by: Anonymous
I think it is worth the upgrade , my opinion just RAW shutting makes it worth it besides the other option

What tripod is best for this heavy camera? I have Bald Eagles behind our home and that is where I would use this camera most often. Thanks
Asked by: Chester
Most tripods should work as long as you have one with the proper weight limit. For trying to photograph them in flight, I would recommend a ball head at bare minimum.
