No, it's not matte. It's a 'High Gloss Metallic' paper which is '100% cotton rag' & uses the 'Photo Black Ink' on pigment printers. This is one of the beauties of Hahnemuhle Fine Art paper, cotton & can also be glossy.

A question for those who printed on this paper: what images did you find were most suited to it? If there's a way to post an image that would be great.

This is a beautiful paper but it is certainly a “specialty “ paper.I myself is still learning its qualities and trying to answer the same question as you ask. So far one great application I found is for printing a night scene.My print included snow covered mountains under the moonlight with the hint of the northern light and some stars.I think the natural shine of paper helps a lot when printing night scenes.Hope that helps
