Celestron Ultima Overview

It's easy to capture and share bright, sharp images of distant objects and scenes with the Ultima 80 20-60x80mm Spotting Scope and Smartphone Adapter Kit from B&H. Simply attach the adapter to the scope, mount your phone, and take images and video through the eyepiece.

Celestron Ultima 80 20-60x80mm Spotting Scope Kit (Angled Viewing)

The angled-viewing Ultima 80 3.1"/80mm Spotting Scope Kit from Celestron features a prismatic spotting scope with an 80mm objective.

All models in the Ultima line are mated to an eyepiece and render views that are both right side up and laterally correct to the world, making them good for both terrestrial and celestial observing. All Ultimas are waterproof, making them more robust than ever before. Celestron surely is delivering exceptional value.

The Ultima line offers the choice between 45° angled viewing or straight viewing. Most users will prefer angled scopes because they are both simple to use for birds perched high above the viewer, as well as easily shared among users of differing heights. But some will prefer the straight-through viewing models, for these are much easier to use when hunting down the object of interest in the first place. Straight-viewing models are also usually a bit lighter, brighter, and less expensive. The choice is yours.

Certain Celestron products include their "No Fault" warranty coverage, which assures that your spotting scope will be repaired or replaced at Celestron's option for as long as you own it, no questions asked!  The only requirement on the user's end is to ship the spotting scope (at the user's cost) to Celestron, with proof of purchase and a check or money order for $25 to cover the costs of inspection, shipping, and handling.  This warranty service is valid only for USA and Canadian citizens purchasing from an authorized Celestron dealer.

Built-In T-Mount Threading for SLR Shooting

The angled-viewing Celestron Ultima series feature a T-mount threading upon the eyepiece barrel, allowing your scope to act as an ultratelephoto lens for your SLR camera (digital or film) with just the addition of a camera-specific T-mount adapter.

Celestron Basic Smartphone Digiscoping Adapter (1.25")

Capture still images and videos of celestial and terrestrial objects with virtually any smartphone through almost any 1.25" eyepiece with Celestron's Basic Smartphone Digiscoping Adapter. Ideal for telescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, monoculars, microscopes, and any other type of optic with an eyepiece, the design allows it to be used on most oculars with outside diameters between 29mm (1.14") and 45mm (1.77"). The rigid frame is made of sturdy and lightweight aluminum with non-slip padding on clamping points to secure it to your eyepiece and mount your smartphone without marking or marring its surfaces. A clamping system holds the adapter securely on the eyepiece and locks in place, while an adjustment system allows for precise phone camera alignment.

Sorry. I am not familiar with common designs of spotting scopes. Is there a tripod mount? is it a 1/4" screw or something else? All of my tripods are set for Arca Swiss mounts. If it is screw mount I can add an Arca Swiss plate.
Asked by: Douglas
All spotting scopes have a 1/4" screw hole for mounting any type of Arca-Swiss quick release plate.

What is a good carry pack for this scope- like a Slingshot 250?
Asked by: Steve
Yes the Lowepro Slingshot Edge 250 AW would work fine. You will just have to move around the inserts to make it fit the scope. You should have room for other things as well. This is the B&H part number on our website for the bag BH #LOSSE250.

could you see clearly .224 holes on your target at 1000 yards?
Asked by: Giles
At 1,000 yards, all bullet holes will appear small. With the Ultima 80, you will most likely see the target, but .224 holes will be more of a challenge. Your best choice is to use a larger aperture spotting scope such as the Celestron C-5 or a C-90. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

question

Is there a clear polarizing filter for this Scope?
Asked by: Lloyd D.
Thank you for your question. We (Celestron) do not offer a polarizing filter for this spotting scope. We have seen in the past that other companies may offer aftermarket filters for camera lenses that may be able to work with this or other spotting scopes, however we do not officially support filters used on this spotting scope. I hope that does not keep you from purchasing this highly rated spotting scope. Thank again for asking.

question

Does this scope come with a padded case cover?
Asked by: Danny F.
I see multiple answers with varying responses. The real answer is NO, it does not come with a padded case. However, it does come with a nicely appointed case with a heavy material and smooth zipper. The case can be left on the scope and used to as a rain cover or protective cover as it can be opened on both ends. Hope this helps!
