Cokin CP120 overview

  • 1Description

This Cokin P Series Hard-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.5 Filter is designed for use with a Cokin P Series Filter Holder. It helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which include defined horizon lines. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides up to a 1.6-stop reduction in light from entering a lens.

This filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick.

  • Compatible with a Cokin P Series Filter Holder
  • Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, while leaving the remainder of the frame unaffected
  • Provides up to a 1.6-stop reduction of light in selective areas
  • Hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas
  • Useful for images which include defined horizon lines
  • Filter does not affect the overall coloration of the image

    Cokin CP120 reviews

    P Series Hard-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.5 Filter (1.6-Stop) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Like a Charm Does everything it's suppose to! Here in the Pacific Northwest we have a LOT of bright gray skies to contend with. This filter is the answer to my dilemma to correct exposure for landscapes, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential landscape-Outdoor accessory Post processing is wonderful--but nothing replaces a properly exposed film or digital negative. To get this, one must often reduce the sky brightness to match the content. This is the basis of a balanced image. The Cokin P-series, combined with the proper holder and matching lens rings gets this essential thing done. The high-resistant to scratching optical resin glass serves well with moderate care. A standard accessory in any well rounded photographers kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from inexpensive filter use the product for lightly over casted sunsets /rises

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very good The filter is absolutely neutral with Canon cameras even when stacked with other filters. I had already two of them and they last about 2-3 years before I have to replace them due to too many scratches. I use them regularly in Landscape fotography. For the price they are very good, I never recognized any optical distrotion introduced by them.
