Shoot both in-studio and on-location photographs with this rugged muslin 5 x 7' Collapsible Background V2 in black/white from Impact. You can use the background for everything from product shots to fashion photography and more. Photographers will appreciate the easy setup, the lightweight and compact folded size, and the see-through carry bag. The background is spot washable and self-supporting when leaned against a wall or pole.

Top and side loops with touch-fastening fabric can be used for convenient attachment to a tripod, stand, or background holder. The two-sided feature gives you the flexibility to take one background to a job rather than two. It also allows you to quickly shoot the same portrait with two different backgrounds, thereby giving your client two different looks to choose from. The flexible steel frame helps keep the fabric flat.

Note:
Colors depicted may vary slightly, due to differences in computer monitors, printed media, and variances in manufacturer dyes or paints. This product may be folded for storage.

Black and White Backgrounds

The bright white fabric provides a soft and diffuse reflection for great fill light when shooting portraits, models, or fashion. The black fabric absorbs light and deepens shadows for a more dramatic effect.

Material

This reversible background is made from rugged muslin fabric useful for absorbing light reducing reflections.

Flexible Steel Frame

The steel frame is light but offers enough strength to stretch the fabric into a smooth surface, so you won't experience inconsistencies in your light. And once the shoot is over, the flexible frame folds down to a compact circle one third of its expanded size. It fits neatly into an included carry bag for transportation or storage.

Attachment Options

The background features an integrated top loop and two side loops with heavy-duty touch fasteners for convenient attachment to a tripod, stand, or background holder.

Great value. Works great too. If I was being picky, I would love it if it folded down a little smaller.

It is what I need for my mobile portrait photography. It is pretty big and well made. The fabric has some wrinkles on both sides but that can be fixed easily in photoshop. Recommended!

Definitely not wrinkle free, I had to use a steamer for over a half hour to remove most of the wrinkles. Still not wrinkle free, but better after steaming. Other than that, works fine for a background. Almost returned, but decided to keep.

Great for on the go. Easy to set up. A little tricky to fold back up on 1st attempt, but you'll get the hang of it (especially if you check out the YouTube videos).

It works well. Difficult to close but that might be due to my short stature and short arms. I did watch the B&H video on how to close and that was the best one. I am happy with the product.

Great value for the money

Is it the absolute best backdrop money can buy? No, I still think the best ones are the rolls of paper that you dispose of. For the cost and with the help of digital editing, is it good enough for portraits? I think so. Plus, it's super fast to assemble and disassemble for on-the-go jobs (which is why I bought it rather than shlep my massive backdrop kit). The white is light enough to contrast with a figure in front of it, and the black is dark enough to where you can't see the wrinkles. The white will have wrinkles in it, but they're large and spread out so they're easy to edit out (masking and upping exposure in LR). I'm sure you can take a steamer to the fabric, though I'd test an edge first. It's a reassuringly heavy duty synthetic jersey material. I think the compromise is great, and considering I got it on sale (around 70 bucks) you just get so much material for your money. My two major points of criticism, regardless of cost, is that it ships in 3 boxes (1 for the backdrop, 1 for the stand, and inexplicably one for the weird screw on attachment). The second issue is that the single stand is a bit wobbly, since the screen is surprisingly heavy because of its flexible frame and the grade of the fabric. By itself the stand is fine, but the legs don't splay out a ton, so attaching something unwieldy doesn't feel great. For indoor use it's fine, but you absolutely can't use this outside, unless perhaps you have sandbags. Granted, it's a gigantic sail that's white, you probably aren't intending to use it outside anyways. One more thing: the screen is a bit tough to fold, especially because you're worried about warping the frame. Just quickly do the taco thing it says in the instructions and it'll be simple. I've never had issues with folding screens for car windows, and this is just a massive version of that. If you have realistic expectations and are ready to let your photo editor smooth over the wrinkles, it's a great buy. Is it as good as paper on two triangle stands with a crossbar? No. Does it take way less time to set up and strike down and cost way less? Absolutely.

Great in multiple pinches.

I used this in a couple different settings, in the shots attached: Horizontal: used the black as a backdrop, subject is next to a window. Still had to do some editing to get the background to go completely black, but expected that. Vertical: used the white as a reflector to bounce the flash and lift the shadow behind the subject. The only thing preventing that 5th star is b/c the stand is just BARELY tall enough to get the reflector up to full height, meaning not leaning on the legs. A couple of extra inches would be nice. Notice: it does feel like you're gonna break this thing when you get it back in the case, but it does work. Just takes some getting used to

Any lightstand will work and I've also propped it up. I recently purchased from B&H the Impact Collapsible Reflector Holder (Large). It is made to hang this background on a lightstand. Just a note it is heavy duty.
