Sony A7 III Reviews
Missing packaging
I purchased this camera as a new camera but when I received the package, it seemed as if it was an opened boxed item or an item that was used, returned, then repackaged to be sold. The camera, charger, and wires were there but nothing else - no manuals, no warranty info, etc. The items were packed in the box but it was definitely not from the manufacturer. The product itself looks fine but when purchasing an item as new, it's expected that you are receiving a brand new item from the manufacturer. Not a repackaged item. It was off-putting. Other than that, the camera is fantastic and shoots great.
Amazing Camera
I am new to Sony, and I am absolutely loving this camera!
What an upgrade!
I upgraded my camera body from an entry level Nikon to this Sony A7iii and I can't believe all the features this camera has. I'm still learning, as the menu options are endless, but I love this camera
Great camera at a reasonable price.
I recently upgraded from a Sony A6500 to the Sony 7iii. While I loved the a6500 (and the a6000 that I have had for five. years) I am so amazed by the quality difference with the 7iii. My images are so much crisper and the ability to shoot in low light situations (I have the 24-70 2.8 lens) makes photography so much more fun. I was just at Bodie State Park, in California . .. a virtual Ghost town from the 1800s; I shoot through dirty glass and got exceptional photos. Love this camera.
'Excellent condition' = dirty sensor
Bought a camera online from B&H while visiting family in the US, when I got home (to Europe) and put my photos on the computer I realized the sensor was filthy. Obviously the camera is great. Really disappointing from B&H, I don't care if the camera has a few scratches but the state of the sensor was unacceptable for the claimed condition.
Work Horse
Oh, the adventures we have been on together and the stories I've captured. This camera has been my baby for the past two years. My escape, my muse, my friend. I've been able to capture images and stories of my close friends, family, and clients along with preserving my own history. I bought this camera for school in 2019. When I first got it I started taking portraits of people on campus. I ended up getting into my first photo exhibition, won some awards later on in my second year, and even got a contract to work for my school. The build quality looks professional and the images have kept up with my work for two years now and still are running strong. I love how I can break it down or build it up with mods like an extra battery pack, flash trigger, and full-out cage for video production. It works well on a gimbal because it's lightweight. I can throw it in my camera bag for travel and snap it on a 50mm or 35mm. I love the feel of the shutter button and the sound. I can also go into silent shooting mode with a push of a button. I've made prints on Epson printers and they look fantastic when printed with adobe RGB profile. If you are looking for a mirrorless system that is extremely versatile in both video and professional photography work this is the camera to get. My clients have been happy and I enjoyed having this camera as my partner for the past two years. Thank you, Sony for making a wonderful camera. The cons: The menu system takes a bit of a learning curve. The app is kinda slow and clunky. No flap to cover the sensor when swapping out the lens so dust can get in. Feels kinda small in hands without a grip. Needs a good lens for it to shine. I was getting chromatic aberrations with the low-end lens. The screen doesn't flip out and is hard to see on harsh sunny days.
It's the camera that sold me on Sony
I love the Sony a7III. I shot with Nikon for years, always buying new equipment that I was only happy with for a short while, until focus issues started cropping up, again. Since I switched to Sony, I've been very happy with, especially, the consistency of in-focus shots. My percentage of keepers has gone way up, and the overall quality (sharpness and color rendition) are much more to my liking. I love the control I have with the ability to assign function buttons for situations I want quick control of, like switching from full frame to DX mode, or going to manual focus, or focus mode~~all programable to other buttons or other functions. I love seeing the photo the camera is going to take, so I can quickly assess exposure and make adjustments if I have time. While I still have my first a7III with a Sony 24-105mm lens mounted, I bought this second Sony a7III to mount my new Sony 70-200mm f/2.8. I shoot in very dusty environments and try not to have to change lenses while out shooting.
