I installed this in lieu of a neck strap on the Q2M. I have no idea why this strap is marketed as exclusive to the D-Lux. A strap lug is a strap lug - they all are the same. My reason for doing so is my state of mind in the aftermath of my seeing a great street scene developing but getting tangled up in the Q2M's next strap to the point that I missed the snap. I realized that these interesting moments arrive and leave quickly with no chance for do overs. I don't want to be fussing with overly long straps ever again when the action develops. I'm using this in conjunction with the handgrip. I think the two work four times better than each alone does.

The only nitpick here is that the small collar near the eyelet loop is glued, so it cannot be used to lock the strap onto your wrist.

Strap works great on my Leica Q2. I don't like neck straps and just use this to stop my camera from falling to the floor if I drop it.
An under $100 Leica real leather strap.

Compared with leather straps from Oberwerth, this Leather strap from Leica is more comfortable. The loop is also easier to fit into the small eyelets of the Leica Q and Q2 bodies. The only caveat is that the protective tab near the loop does not slide up to tighten your wrist to the leather strap, like other makers'.

Leica has not had any issues with the cord breaking when used with the D-Lux cameras. It was designed to work as intended.
