Capable of throughput up to 6,000 Mb/s, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router from Netgear supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a wireless standard that allows for faster Wi-Fi speeds, more simultaneous upload and download streams, and greater energy efficiency for battery-powered wireless clients than previous Wi-Fi standards.

Equipped with four internal antennas, five 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet LAN port, one 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet WAN port, and a pair of USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, the Wi-Fi 6-enabled Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 supports OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and multi-user MIMO (Multiple Input and Multiple Output) to deliver faster and more reliable Wi-Fi connections compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The router also boasts a Smart Connect feature that selects the best Wi-Fi band for your devices, allowing for a single network name for both wireless bands, as well as voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

OFDMA Support

OFDMA allows for efficient data transmission for up to 8 devices at the same time. Uplink OFDMA improves scheduling during high volumes of upload traffic, particularly when that traffic is created simultaneously.

Up to 4 Simultaneous Wi-Fi Streams

Four-stream multi-user MIMO support enables up to four 1x1 MIMO devices to stream content at the same time.

160 MHz Channel Support

Designed to double the speeds offered by 80 MHz wireless channels to provide Gigabit speeds for compatible mobile devices and laptops.

Quad-Core Processor

64-bit 1.8 GHz quad-core processor helps to ensure smooth 4K streaming and gaming.

Six 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet Ports (5 LAN and 1 WAN)

Connect more wired devices for faster file transfer and uninterrupted connections. Two ports can be aggregated for faster LAN transfer and two can be aggregated to enable internet speeds exceeding 1 Gb/s.

Smart Connect

Sets one Wi-Fi network name for the entire home, then intelligently selects the fastest Wi-Fi band for each device connection.

Nighthawk App

Set up your router with your smartphone, and remotely manage your network away from home.

Backward Compatibility

Works with 802.11ac/n/g/b/a client devices.

Voice Control

Lets you control your Netgear Wi-Fi network with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands.

Security Features

Equipped with 128-bit AES-PSK encryption, the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 Wi-Fi Router is designed to automatically download firmware updates and security patches, while VPN support lets you securely access your home network while you're away.

Additional DFS Channels

Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) helps the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 operate in the 5 GHz frequency band without interfering with nearby radar systems.

1024-QAM Support

Offers up to 25% better data efficiency and faster wireless speeds compared to 256-QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) routers.

System Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000, macOS, UNIX, or Linux
