The Orca OR-280 Audio Bag is designed to fit MixPre-10 audio mixers or other similarly sized mixers. It features an internal honeycomb frame which can securely hold your recorder/mixer, as well as other gear such as wireless transmitters and battery mounts. Internal sponge lifts and a divider allow you to arrange your gear as needed.
The bag has a transparent top to easily view your equipment which is secured by a hook-and-loop strip. There are also hook-and-loop straps to secure a boompole or cables on the outside of the case, as well as straps to secure gear inside the case. The bright blue polyester interior allows you to view your equipment clearly.
The OR-280 is accessible from multiple angles, allowing you to access and arrange gear however you choose. Two zipper pockets on the side and one large pocket in the front provide space for additional gear such as headsets, cables, and batteries. The bag is carried by two handles or by the included shoulder strap, and it is also compatible with the optional Orca Harness if you need to keep your hands free.

The official Orca website says this bag is compatible with the Mix-Pre 10 along with the MX-L battery mount. Does this mean it will fit two NP-F970 type batteries mounted at once?
Yes I have a MixPre 10T II and I got this bag and I have the MXL and 2 NP-F970 Battery 6600mAh 7.4v They are pretty big. They fit in it fine. I tweaked it with the lifters and all of that but eventually just let it sit on the MXL base. If you lift it very much you can't get to the headphone volume knob, which is part of the menu controls also. If it is lifted the headphone control is behind the upper frame. That said after 2 days of intense location work I realize there is enough gap if the 10T is all the way to the left, there is enough space to get your finger in there from the front.

There is a difference between the Orca OR-280, which has a larger internal size and is optimized for the Sound Devices MixPre 10, and the OR-28, which is smaller, and designed for the Zoom F8, Tascam DR-70, and other portable recorders of that size range.

Dimensions of the Zoom F8 are 7 x 5.5 x 2.1" and the interior of the ORCA OR-280 is 9.4 x 7.9 x 4.5" so the F8 will fit inside, but the bag is larger than needed. As a better option for a similar bag that is sized for the F8, you may like the ORCA OR-28 Mini Audio Bag for ZOOM F8, Zaxcom Max, Tascam DR70 & Other Recorders (B&H # OROR28), or the ORCA OR-27 Small Sound Bag (B&H # OR27), or the ORCA OR-272 Sound Bag for Zoom F4 and F8N (B&H # OR272), or the ORCA OR-30 Audio Mixer Bag (B&H # OROR30).
